I kept telling people that I would eventually do a bugeye retrofit....and I finally got all the parts together. Took awhile to see what would fit. Initially I told people I was going to use a tsx, but once I got the lights in, I realized this needed to be a bixenon setup (hi/low beam function projector).
I ordered a set of Acura TL projectors and Infiniti FX35 Projectors for testing. Over the past few weeks I decided the FX's were a better fit...and ended up straying away from the normal e46 shroud, and went with a e55 shroud. I think it was a better choice because its round and flows better with the shape of the light.
The FX projector was good, but not good enough because they had frosted lenses. I used a TSX lens combined with a custom spacer (color mod) and got awesome results.
I will have to say once this is done its going to be the ultimate bugeye headlamp setup. Its wide, sharp, intense, bixenon functions will out do just about every other car on the road. All while maintaining a nice OEM look.
Here are some in progress pictures, along with a shot of the cutoff line.
