You're talking about cars with the 3rd highest resale value in the industry. You would have to get something with crazy high mileage and/or has been wrecked to get that low.

I have an 05 non-Ltd GT 5-speed for $20k, an 05 non-GT Ltd 5-speed for $18k, and an 04 WRX 5-speed for $18k.

The brand in general. A study came out that listed the top 20 manufacturers in residual value after 3 years. Honda, Toyota, and Subaru were 1-3, all within 1% of each other (around 67% of their original value if I'm not mistaken).

That's why the preowned Subaru market is so tough.
