Are there any success stories about this computer I just bought?

I don't know about Subarus specifically, but there are many success stories. One of the most popular (at least to me) is Parish's trubo truck, which I've been lucky enough to see at the strip in person.

Old technology. Batch fire fuel injection system on a somewhat dated 8 bit micro. Yes, they do offer a newer hardware board with the "Star-12" 16 bit processor but the concept is still the same. It would be a step backwards from any stock WRX controller.

However, for smaller custom projects, they are great. Very easy to setup and relatively easy to calibrate. This is 100% a DIY project. Do not expect anyone to calibrate this setup for you, nor will you be able to find "off the shelf" maps that wil fit you application exactly.

What would this be going into?

I always thought it would make a good computer for a 2nd stage port injection system for water or alcohol. I wouldn't try to run one as the primary ECU.

You need to get up to date on the MegaSquirt. They are more advanced now and getting better everyday.
