You should be able to dispute the charge, as most credit card companies will let you, and even still if they won't credit you this means that the vendor HAS THE MONEY which means they can give you YOUR money back ... worse comes to worse, call a lawyer (if it's worth it)

Did you sign a recipt? Or was this mailorder with no signiture? Either way all you have to do is talk to the right dept with you card company and tell them to do a "chargeback". Simply tell them you don't accept the charges.

That sucks. When you called MC, did you get a regular phone rep? I worked in customer service for a few years, and you should ALWAYS ask to speak to a supervisor or manager right away. Don't even deal w/ the phone reps. They don't have the authority to do anything. Call them again and just ask for a supervisor or mgr and don't hang up until you get one. Good luck!

Most credit card companies will only dispute purchases made within 100 miles of your home... thus elimating most mail orders from the liability...

Even if the credit card company will dispute it, you're still going to have to pay the interest on the balance until it gets refunded. Either that or pay the disputed amount and get a check back later.
You need to send it in in writing. They say you can call but calling won't preserve your rights.
Good luck.
This is Honda CRV related. It should be in Off Topic.

That's weird. I never actually use a credit card. I use a Visa check-card. So when there's a charge dispute I call my bank. They've never refused to dispute a charge for me. I find it strange that a credit card company would treat its customers that way.

Jordan, your risk is actually astronomically higher with the check card instead of using a standard credit card. Do a little legwork...

i agree with MichiganRS. I used to work in a bank in the credit card department. So going to the chargebacks dept is the way to go but i think they will sent u to the dispute dept first. You will get your cash back but the thing is with chargebacks they have a 60 days turnover period (may differ with different banks) So you will get the cash back but time is against you im afraid. But good luck with it anyways http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Jordan! Most debit card contracts don't require the banks to do any sort of chargeback. That was the major problem with debit cards way back when... but maybe with the Visa/MC logo they have to? It would be worth checking (no pun intended) out.
