I have an '01 2.5 and I have found a set of used shop manuals for the '00 model. I can save some $ buying the old ones, but I'm not sure if they would be good enough.
Are there any real differences between those years? It would suck to get the old ones and be missing something.

mechanically and electrically, they are exactly the same, yes.

yeah they are the same...besides the MY01 fake CF trim...but man does it make the dash look all sorts of pretty.

IIRC, I thought 01's also had the factory CD player (former) option stock as well. I believe that is it along with the CF trim that Jeremy stated above.

oh yeah...that is right i forgot about that one nick...thanks for reminding me ;)

Now if they only came with a damn trunk light...oh well mines in ;)
