I have up for sale a V1 MadDad header and uppipe combo. This is the orignal header with the 48mm uppipe. It has an EGT bung welded (by Crucial who did a great welding job) in the #4 runner. The EGT bung is 1/8NPT (used by the MadDad gauges and Defis, not sure about other brands of gauges.)
I had these installed on my car for a week and used them for 300 miles before I removed them. I removed them since I had developed an exhaust leak, which when we removed the headers we discovered it was because the bolt I had used to plug the EGT probe in the uppipe had worked its way out and fell out. I had torqued it way down and the bolt I used to plug it had been coated along with the uppipe. I strongly recommend using Loctite to prevent this from happening again. I had a few other tiny leaks but that was mostly due to install issues that I wouldn't have again if I reinstalled these. Take your time with this install and you should have no problems. Unfortunately I don't have the time to reinstall these so I'm selling them.
The other issue I had which I noticed when we were hunting for the missing EGT bung plug leak was that the Crucial coating I had put on them was bubbling and cracking off. These were done during a time that Crucial's coater was having issues with one of their employees not properly prepping material before it is coated. They were sent back to Crucial, the original coating removed, the metal bead-blasted, and then properly recoated. This time around Crucial used their new and improved interior coating as well to withstand higher temps. There should be more more issues with the coating, if so Crucial will recoat them again for you.
I spent $400 on the header/uppipe combo, $210 for it to be coated and the EGT bung welded in (great welding work), and then $50 in shipping. (Total: $660)
I'll sell the whole thing for $400 shipped. Like I said, I would reinstall them, I just don't have the time. (Moving into a new house in a few months so I'm busy cleaning up the old house to sell in addition to everything else I have going on.)
I will include what I have left of the gaskets and uppipe studs but I would recommend buying another set of gaskets from MadDad so you don't have any leaks. I believe they are ~$50 for the set.
If you are interested PM me and I will send you my PayPal address. Local pickup is also available I'm in Laurel/College Park MD.
