I am thinking of running 5mm wide spacers in the front of my STU prepped STi to widen the track and gain alittle front bite. The car is on Tein Flex with Stanos from bar. Pretty easy to balance the car as it is, but want to start tweeking alignment and corner balance this year.

I don't think you'll notice a 10mm track change in the front, but there's nothing wrong with your thought process. Just don't go with more than a 5mm spacer because you will quickly run out of threads on the OEM lugnuts.

Given that wheel width is unrestricted in STU, IMO you would do better with a wider front wheel. You would stretch the tire somewhat and increase the track as you are doing with the spacers.

BTW - Did you see the Atlanta Region schedule posted this week? Are you planning on coming out in March?

I agree that 5mm is just not enough to notice a difference. And if you go thicker, then I would consider aftermarket stronger studs due to the additional shearing forces, even if you have enough threads. Maybe not necessary, but better than losing a wheel!

Thanks for the responses. Plan on wider wheels in the future, but am looking for smaller this to do now.

Atlanta is a 5 hour drive. Unless they are giving away free money or cars, I probably won't venture that far. Thank anyway.
