Am I the only one who is sick of coming to the "Motorsports" section of NASIOC, North America's Largest Subaru Site and seeing 95% of the posts relating to non-Subaru motorsports?

I don't have a problem with it. I love Subies, and I love motorsports, unfortunately Subarus do not participate in all motorsports.

I only see 3 threads and 1 sticky not related to Subaru (95%?) in Motorsports. I think its interesting to hear Subaru owners/racers opinions on other forms of auto racing - such as a Subaru owner's opinion of NASCAR.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's because we're all car guys with different tastes and everyone like to post about things they like (and don't like in this case). :p

Paisan,

Why are you saying this all of a sudden. I see you posting in non-subaru motorsports threads all the time. If you don't like them why do you post in them?

This is not one of the best ideas I've heard. After a quick check of the forums I frequent, every single manufacturer based forum for this same topic and they don't narrow it down to just there make them for the car they focus on. That's just plain stupid. Read the title of the forum. It is for ALL motorsports topics.

I think this is a misuse of mod powers making this a sticky. You and so far one other person have commented on this and all of a sudden it is a sticky.

Option 4: It's just you. :p

I'd say you need to split it up then. One for "Subaru Motorsports", and another for "All Other Motorsports".

If you want to limit your motorsports intake to just Subaru related events have fun.

You want to complain about what's in Motorsports? Let's ban these threads:

"Where's WRC on Speed Channel?"

"How can I be competitive at my first motorsport event? My ego can't take it if I'm not on the podium."

"How do I start a career as a race driver?"

Then, can we prevent people who have never participated in a sport from giving advice in a thread, on a subject they aren't qualified to speak to?

No? We can't ban these things? Then Motorsports is perfect as it is! ;)

We could, I don't see a problem with anything you have suggested above!

If we restricted this forum to subaru-only, then you'd quickly get sick of coming to this forum and not having anything to read.

Why is that? there is plenty of Subaru racing and racing tech that can be discussed, not to mention more people might post about SUBARU stuff if it wasn't going to get burried by NASCAR, etc.

Oh noes. 19 out of 23 thread on the page that come up are Subaru related. 4 aren't. The motorsports forum isn't busy enough to have enough threads to take up two pages over 24 hours of posting and you want to remove 15% of the threads. Not the 95% previously mentioned.

In the last few days you've contributed to 2 of those non-subaru threads. Started a thread about a regional event, maybe we should move those to regional forums. Even contributed to a Speed bashing thread that you say you don't like. I'm not doing this as a personal attack I'm just showing you that you are part of this so called 'problem' that you are saying is diluting the motorsports content of NASIOC.

I come to this forum because of the diverse yet somewhat subaru based motorsports discussion. Do I think we should move a regional NASA race discussion to SE or Tri-state, even if the only people who have contributed to it are from the east coast and not all are even driving Subarus? No, that's silly. If people didn't want to talk about other Motorsports they wouldn't contribute to threads. 3 of the top 5 threads that have been active in the last day are NON-subaru threads.

Why are you trying to solve a problem that isn't there? This forum is one of the better Motorsports forums. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

As said before the 3 million stickies is a bit annoying though. Why do we need a sticky of hte current rally. The high activity of it will keep it on the front page. Slow moving but important topics are what stickies are for.

As much as I dislike Nascar, I do like other forms of racing; MotoGP, Touring cars, GT, Dakar, SCORE, etc... Brand loyalty is nice but you really miss out on a lot of interesting stuff with other forms of racing that have nothing to do with Subaru. You'll always have your extremes though. Go to any motorcycle forum and you'll find a bunch of anti-car people. Go to a 4x4 forum and you'll get anti-car people. Go to a car forum and you'll get anti-4x4 people...

I like them all, just not Nascar.

Does this mean I can't discuss my rally exploits or plans, since I don't rally a Subaru?

Chad, I'm sure there are other reasons we can come up with.;)

Although the MSPaints of your exploits have always been great.

Wow, read the options of your pole...what a freaking bias joke.

You don't care about Subaru's if you don't mind 3 other non-subaru motorsports threads floating around What are you 10?

How about make reasonable pole choices.

This thread is a joke...and is making you look bad.
