does the trans have a different gear ratio than the L trans is it stonger? I know the rear diff should be lsd.

The hood will "fit" without interferance on your 95L without modification to the existing headlamps and grill.

The apparent issue however is that it won't cleanly match, as there will be an abnormal gap between the hood and girll/lights.

The transmission ratios are different as well as most of the final drive ratios. I think some later L's had the 4.111FD.

As far as strength, it should be around the same. Most L's used an older 5MT case before it was updated during the MY99. However, I've seen more people using the RS drivetrain with turbo engines swap without issues. I've read about a case where a L transmission stripped one of the gears clean on a WRX swapped L.

Rear LSD's were equipped only on MY00-MY01 RS'es.
