View Full Version : Boosting 17.1 on AP Live boost on Stage 2
06WRXTR 02-11-2007, 08:46 PM I know its freaking cold air here in missouri at 20-30 degrees...but my car is overboosting big time and hitting boost cut..its just your regular Stage 2 car w/ BPM downpipe and straight exhaust...whats the deal...and it only boost cuts in 5th all other forward gears are good
MarkRx 02-11-2007, 10:32 PM dude... it's 17.5psi +/- .5psi tapering to 14.5psi nearing redline on stage 2. read the map notes.
It's 15.2 +/- .7 psi... He's got an '06 WRX, not an STI.
hondaeater69 02-11-2007, 11:05 PM does that DP have a WG that intrudes into the turbo? did this just happen with the install of the DP?
06WRXTR 02-12-2007, 01:35 AM yeah its a wrx...so it has a max of 15lbs...no it just started doing it..sometimes in third gear it would be kinda jerky at part throttle too
FreNetiC WRX 02-13-2007, 04:07 PM yeah its a wrx...so it has a max of 15lbs...no it just started doing it..sometimes in third gear it would be kinda jerky at part throttle too

Missile129 02-13-2007, 05:35 PM I hit 19.3lbs this morning on my way to base. My AP stage 2 cut off boost @ this point, i was in fifth gear. By the way it was -19 degrees F.

well **** me runnin... :p my stage-2 spikes up to 18.4 and then holds at 17.5 and comes down to 14.5 near redline. think i should be worried? I thought this thing would pull alot harder than stage-1, but i'm just not feeling it.
06WRXTR 02-14-2007, 10:09 AM u got an sti its fine
Uncle Scotty 02-14-2007, 01:14 PM ....STOP stompin it in 5th gear

18.4 is the max the ap will read, may want to look into a regular standalone boost gauge to make sure you're not really boosting like 25 psi or something crazy like that.

yeah i'm not sure what the peak is, but it is spiking for about .5 seconds then it comes right down to 17.5 and holds then tapers twds redline. should i be worried about this spike and if so, would the LWG map help?

if you are overboosting, the lwg may help... what is target boost for that map? are you hitting fuel cut? do you have access to logging tools?
MarkRx 02-15-2007, 12:51 AM nah, just an AP2. no fuel cut, i have ecu explorer but i dont have cable since the v2 cable doesnt work with ecuexplorer.
lthayes4 02-15-2007, 12:36 PM I had same issue with the Cobb Stg 2 setup definitely give LWG Stg 2 mapping a try. It helped for me but wasn't completely gone until I got PDX tuning map.
