View Full Version : Downsizing tire width question Stonebaru 02-12-2007, 11:44 AM Ok, I know it's feasible, but out of curiosity, for those with 7" width wheels (stockers or otherwise), has anyone gone with 205 width tires (more specifically, winter tires). With all the snow we've received here in NY it's made me wish I had thinner tires for winter, so I am just curious if anyone has tried it...I think I might anyway, but I thought I would poke around here first. krzyss 02-12-2007, 12:23 PM Check the spec of the tires. Audi and BMW have used 16X7 wheels for their 205/55x16 OE tires for years. I have my winter tires on 16x7 wheels (205/55x16) and I think it's actually the prefered size for the stock 205/55x16 tire.
