here's a question I gave birth to... if I were to tune the car now, how would it affect it's performance in summer with normal vs winter gas + warm/hot air?
I just need a tune, as my multiplier is stuck at 8 with MAF maxing out and some knock:(

the more important question is--who's doing the tuning?
if they're good, then it'll be fine.
if they're not, then you could have issues.

Your Tune should use your existing sensors to automatically adjust for change in temp outside

I don't know, I had my car professionally tuned in the summer, then started overboosting like crazy in the winter. If you tune your car in the winter, I would think that your peak boost would drop when the warmer temperatures came around.

There is an intake temp compensation table for WGDC that can help to negate any appreciable changes in temp wrt to boost levels. Again, how good is your tuner???

The stock ECU has several compensations. There are timing and wastegate duty comps for IAT that are probably the most important. It isn't that hard to setup. Just have the wastegate IAT map steadily ramp down as you go below 20C or so. This compensation cuts both your initial and max duty maps. Say, if your map has 0.90 (or -10%, depending on how your software displays it) at 0C (32F), it just multiplies your entire initial and max duty maps by 0.90. So an 80 would become 72, a 50 would become 45, etc. The closed loop controls (proportional and integral) maps are not adjusted.
I don't think the UTEC has an IAT to wastegate compensation, so it might be best to have an entire second map that has a lowered boost map.
I have the ECU add a touch of timing as IAT goes down as well. The stock map is pretty flat on some cars except for very high and very low IAT. The newer cars seem to have more ramp.
It isn't hard to adjust, so I'd ask the person who tuned your car if they'll make a quick adjustment. It doesn't take a complete retune.

Either way you need to see your tuner! Compensating for changes in the air is the sign of a good tune! Tuning isn't just the right Air/Fuel, it's the total package which you need to get. Numbers are nothing without reliability...

i'm overboosting, but intake temp hasn't changed that much here, so i have a feeling it's due to a few other things.......

Well other things are factors also, but intake temp changes with ambient air temp.

Your intake temp should drop significantly. I still have a hot air intake and have seen -10C to 0C intake temps the past week.
