I just buy a SDS engine management for my stock engine 99 RS-T.

I have a new EJ257 short-bloc with forged CP piston in it and 550 pink injectors waiting for swap. But before I want to install and tune the SDS as best as possible on my actual setup in case something bad appen to the engine during the tuning presses.

But before I install it, I would like to have info, idea and opinion of peaple and tuner who run and install the SDS in ther car. I will take all info you can throw at me. Is it a good EMS? If you have it, on what setup do you run it? ETC???

Thanks in advance for all the info!

P.S. If you want to see my actual setup http://ob1.monchar.com/ , and sorry for my english I am french Canadian! ;)

it will work but it is 10+ year old technology
provides no logging
no laptop interface
no knock correction
requires a custom pick up wheel

in my humble opinion you have chosen the worst of all the standalone solutions!

an emanage piggy back might have been better

Agreed! It's like using an abacus for "advanced" math. :)

Though the pick up wheel isn't a big deal.

You can buy the pickup wheel from them, fits any EJ engine.

Have used it many times when others insisted on it. Simple does not equal better when it comes to tuning. Time is money. Can you even save maps with SDS yet?

The sds system is a great system people usually only dis things they know nothing about , sds is super simple to install and tune the best support of any system built , sds is mainly used for race purposes (where it has been used with great success, look at scca champion of 2006) and also on the street. Its not for everyone , but dont spread false info. sdsefi.com

bahahahahhahahhah
lol
you have got to be kidding

"its great for people that don't know any better" is a more accurate statement

in 2007 an ecu that won't log, has no wideband intagratio, no knock correction and no pc interface is a total farce

a homebrew megasquirt is a much better ecu
