A few weeks ago while trying to avoid a wreck in the snow I curbed my wheel:mad: . This is the first time I have ever curbed a wheel and was wondering if this is something that can be fixed. It a OEM 2006 WRX wheel. I try to keep my car as perfect as I can and it is really bothering me. Any help or suggestions would be great.

All the more reason to paint them gold. As for fixing it..um maybe trying to round it off a bit with sandpaper or something. Not too sure.

You can go the "wheel repair shop" route or DIY. Here are a couple of articles you may be interested in:

A search using keywords such as "curb rash repair" may bring up more suggestions. ....good luck.

That looks minor. You might want to try looking at the FS threads to see if anyone has one good one for sale. But do try to DIY if you are up to it.

I had my SSR repaired for about 180 CAD, and they look better than the day I bought them :D

look on autopia.org and search for the curb rash fix on there. They have a really good fix for curbed wheels. A little sanding, bondo, more sanding, and spray paint=fix

Bondo?? On your wheel?? That **** will chip off within 10 miles, If you want it to last take it to a wheel repair shop if you just want to make it less noticeable, sand it down a little to smooth it out

This method works fine in scenarios where the damage is superficial. If you take your time with the prep/final finish and use quality products, I see no reason why the filler should (or would) simply "chip off".

True to a certain extent. But for a surface face scratch, or a light scuff I could see it working, but I would worry about curb rash to the lip. It really depends on the the thickness of the Bondo used, and how it was mixed/applied (how much hardener was added etc). I used to work in Hot Rod Fabrication, and body work (Wyotech Graduate) and there were all sorts of things that I was told to not put Bondo, Filler, Mud, Plastic, etc. on..... Wheels being one of them. But from my experience, and what I was taught no more than 1/4" of filler can be used before you run the risk of a crack/chip, some sort of sealer should be used before applying paint, and never apply Bondo to a edge or corner (ex. Wheel Lip).

:D This is a great suggestion but I just bought these wheels and funds are kind of limited. If I could I would love to buy new ones. I was a little leary about the bondo to. I am going to see how much it costs to have a wheel repair shop fix it and if that is to expensive and It keeps buging me I will try to find another one.
