Hi All,
I've been reading about the various ways to change the ATF in the WRX, either by draining it out from underneath via the drain plug or by using an oil extractor to suck it out via the dipstick tube. Both methods seem to remove approximately 6 quarts of fluid.
I have an oil extractor from Griot's that I use for changing the oil on my other vehicles. I would love to be able to use it for the ATF change on the WRX. My question is, does the dipstick tube for the automatic transmission go directly into the ATF pan? I've had issues with other cars where the oil extractor couldn't get all the way into the pan to vacuum out the fluid.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
