OMFG!!

First: Quit taking it IDP, and you might regain some control.

Second: Take the car to a detailer, and have him shampoo the seats, and for that matter, everything else. Don't tell him why.

I disagree tell them to smell the seat when they are done to ensure the removed the smell.

I too was wondering about washing the 'fancy' fabric that the STi has. It does not seem that durable.

lol i also wanted to clean my interior because it doesnt smell the best. I tried TurtleWax oxygen power out up upholstery cleaner and that cleaned some spill stains out but DAMN that crap SMELLS. Every time i got into my car the smell made me want to barf, i had to drive with all the windows down for a few weeks and drown them in febreze over nights. My cousins came over from out of town and they were like "his car smells" lol =(. If anyone knows any better products(shampoos, cleaners, etc) to clean the interior as well as the smell out let me know, i prefer doing things myself.

uhh well yea where to start?
i would oxy clean the seat ans use a upholstery cleaner(no amonia or bleach cons.) and then spray it with whatever scent you'd like.

Anyways to stay on topic... use Febreeze for the Auto.

try some Simple Green.
I have used it on the Alcantara (sp?) sections of my seats w/ good results.
(for different reasons, I must say!)
they it on a inconspicuous area first, as YMMV.

Please don't use Febreeze. It won't do anything but cover up the smell with it's own smell for a little while.

If you have a shop-vac, a bucket and a large car wash sponge, you can shampoo your own seats very easily. Buy some upholstery shampoo.. you can find it on the cleaning isle at your supermarket.

Put a small amount of the shampoo in the bottom of the bucket, then fill the bucket to 1/3rd it's volume with warm water.
Use the sponge to froth up the soapy liquid until you've filled the bucket with suds. It's the suds that you're interested in, not the soapy water.
Wring out the sponge and then scoop up a bunch of suds on it. Then use the sudsy sponge to gently rub some soap into the fabric.
After working the suds into the fabric, throw the sponge into the bucket and immediately begin vacuuming the soap back out. It will bring along any smelly contaminants with it. Your seat should be slightly damp when you're done, but when you press down on it, no extra water should surface. If you've brought any extra dirt to the surface of the fabric, just repeat from the previous step until it appears clean after vacuuming.
Concentrate on one panel of fabric at a time... starting with the specific area in question. You can shampoo any fabrics or carpets in your interior using this method.
Once you're done cleaning all that you want, barely open the windows, turn on the car and set the heat to max through the under-dash and dash vents. Wait 20-25 min, then turn off the car and leave the windows cracked for several hours to allow any extra moisture to escape.

As ekw suggested, trying in an inconspicuous area first is always a great idea.

OH good god lol. what about those steam upohlstry(spelling) cleaners you can rent at supermarkets with a mild cleaner? my seats and interior could use a cleaning to and not sure how to do it. could you unzip the seat covers and hand wash them and air dry them? seem to come off easy, this ever been done?

I too usually rent a steam cleaner (well, it's more like a water jet sprayer + vacume in one) once a year....

use the machine to wash the carpets in the house and the upostry tool to do the car. Just use VERY little soap with some warm water and it's good to go :)

be VERY sure when you rent it that the upostory tool does not have any scratches on it..... a nicked tool will catch on the fabric and REALLY scratch up your seats/fabric.

somebody posted a good cleaning solution a while back that you just spray and wipe, i forgot what it was called though.

edit: found it, http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1017149&highlight=clean+alcantara+seats

If you explain this exactly how you wrote it to a detailer, they might understand.

o damn... lol sry dude but that sucks ass. I'd say go and rent a carpet cleaner from where ever you can rent one from and use that on said stain. There not that much and they work great just make sure you get the right attachments for it and then when thats all said and done.... Febreze the hell out of it.
