Look at this log snipnet. The stock ecu goes from 11 degrees adv to +1. Now is it knocking and the utec not see it? The last column is target afr.

That’s a weird one… Maybe your knock constraints are all out of wack? That would explain why the UTEC isn’t pulling timing, but not why it wouldn’t show up in the logs… :confused:

I too am running speed density and went threw a bunch of logs I have saved. I didn’t find any instances where the stock ECU timing values make that drastic of a change, a few degrees at points, but nothing that major. :confused:

Just out of curiosity, NITROS what version of ECU ROM are you running within your model year? Maybe there’s been a TSB refreshing your ECU image due to factory issues with the OE tune?

look slike a logger issue more than anything.

do you have a tactrix cable? run some oem ecu logs.

Like with that is your UTEC really running 4*? I doubt it. An 18* drop then a 9* raise in timing would be super noticeable.

Yea i know. Fixed that. too much boost not enough fuel there. Injectors went static. :(

Well it has me a bit curious because in a span of 200 RPM you went from 14.X to 12.X as rpms increased but the injector duty cycle remained the same which means a shorter injector pulse. Less fuel, more air...richer AFR? I'm wondering if your fuel pump duty was pulled back a lot by the stock ECU for some reason. Something else was going on there IMHO.

I agree the first log posted looks more like a logger screw up than anything. There is nothing particularly special about 1 degree timing to the ECU. The fact that you see it exactly 1.0 several times like that out of the blue doesn't make sense. I wonder if the UTEC logger has trouble determining ECU timing when it is very low. ??

though i've never seen it as low as 1 degree, i have seen it down in the single digits... 8s and 9s.

Sorry I should have been more specific. What program did you use to capture the log from the UTEC? If you are using a 3rd party program besides a terminal emulator (HyperTerm ect) can you try again with just the terminal emulator?
