You use a generic terminal program (e.g. the HyperTerminal program that comes with Windows) to connect to the UTEC through a serial port. People have connected to UTEC with a Mac without issues. stichris 02-17-2007, 05:35 AM I use a mac compatible serial -> usb adapter, and a program called ZTerm. I also boot windows XP with Parallels to run UTI so that I can log with my AEM UEGO wideband o2 sensor. Just logging with a mac terminal program is easy, running it through windows under OSX is a bit more challenging... let me know if I can help. Chris pjm 02-18-2007, 06:56 PM Upgrading the UTEC firmware may be difficult. I think the flashing program is PC specific. Of course, this is not an issue if all you want to do is log. clutchcargo 03-01-2007, 10:38 PM I use a mac compatible serial -> usb adapter, and a program called ZTerm. Chris Hey Chris, so if I get the serial/usb connector, how do you set this up in OS X? Does Zterm just recognise the usb com port and allow you to connect? Another option might be to buy a cheap handheld/laptop PC (with a com port), but does anyone know of a good option on this front? Thanks in advance JMS77 03-01-2007, 10:48 PM Openecu.org.... you can get the Enginuity software to work on the Mac w/the Tactrix cable..... just a thought. |
