any of you peeps ever had a problem with the 3rd brake light on an RS coupe spoiler? mine broke off on my favorite twisty, well, it's really just bumpy more than twisty, but it's gravel http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif anywho, i rolled up to the stop at the end of the road, and checked my rearview, and staring back at me, dangling by a wire, was the 3rd LED brake light.
the tabs broke, each at the screw holes, with the screws still holding the other halves of each respective tab to the wing.

i had to yank the wires (the prongs came out of the plug) to take the light off of the wing and put it in my car, cause i didn't think it very wise of me to be driving around with it any longer as-was. brought it to the dealer, and after spending two weeks locating the part and getting it delivered, they told me that it would NOT be covered by warranty, and that maybe possibly they would good-will it. what the deal

i wrote SOA an email letter last night, got a response today, and they said that the dealer had told them that the wires were cut, and that that was the reason it couldn't be covered by warranty.

i was told that "there was evidence of serious tampering" by the service rep. the conflicting stories definitely upset me when i heard back from SOA. so i wrote them back again, stating the same, that i was disturbed at the differences in reasons/stories, and that 200 dollars was outrageous for the part, not including labor.

argh!!!

what to do, what to do...
