Long story short I've just taken my wrx out of storage and before loading the most current map I remembered there being a firmware upgrade available in order to use the latest software and maps. However when I went to the cobb website I found that the information, how-to guide, and software were no longer available. I do remember there being very stern warnings to unmarry and send the accessport in so neither the ecu or accessport would be destroyed in the process. My question is: Is the upgrade still required/available? Or can I just go ahead and load on the 1.30 map from my accessport 1.0 to my 04wrx? The part # is AE-WRX-PORT-04 and the Serial # is 01004U0606. I have not done any upgrades to the accessport since I purchased the unit in may 05 and am not even sure which version of the 93oct map is being used. I'd appreciate any help you could lend me, thank you.

There's no update needed for the v1 AP. just the v2 AP's.

Thanks for the link, but the title implies it's the 05 to 04 accessport instructions, I was under the impression this firmware upgrade was necessary for new maps to be loaded correct?

T use new maps you need to be using the current map manager.
Connecting to the new software may reequire the AP patch.

Nice, just got done with the whole process of unmarry, update, re-initialize and it went off w/o a hitch. Now time to move onto the next issue, only hitting 13.7psi and have been for quite some time now :(
