okie.. headlights is all re-wired.. now.. new project..

If anyone has the wire diagram for the 04 headlight motor leveling.. please send me it.. also i need the wire diagram for the 06 motor as well..

04 looks like it has 6 wires.. 06 has three...

i just finish the 04 to 06 swap.. got all my lights to work.. i used some of the old plugs and cut some and connected it together.. only thing is.. my leveling motor doesnt work..

it looks like on the 06 motor has 3 wires coming from it...

on the 04 has 6 pins..

should i just try to buy a whole new 06 level switch.?

i called subaru today to try to buy a 06 wire harness to just plug and play.. they was asking 800.. so I just used old wires and connected them one by one, bypassing the main connector that all the wires lead to.. ( i hope im not confusing you..) 04 dont have one main plug that all the lights(turn, parking, high) goes to.. 06 has one plug..

so now im stuck with a three pin/wire on 06.. i dont think they sell that seperately that goes straight to the switch... do they.? i need to find out to either mod the 04 leveling motor harness (6 wires) .. or mabe get a whole switch if possible..

any ideas.? thankyou...

The 04 wiring and the 06 switch are incompatible.
Similarly, the 06 wiring and the 04 switch aren't compatible.
You can't put an 04 switch on an 06 light, and you can't put an 06 switch on an 04 light.

And even more for you to digest is that the 04 switch and the 06 switch are of different sizes.

A little research would have saved you this problem of not being able to make your lights move with a switch that fits..

hey lightwerks... i wired up the lights already. everything is in and working... my car isnt done yet though.... the day i was suppose to pick up my car.. the night before someone broke into it and stole my TV and amp.. so waiting for the bodyshop to replace it with new ones..

now im just doing a new project when i have all the things i need.. i have to 04 switch in my car but found out it will b no use for me 06 motor.. so im trying to get the 06 switch and wiring diagram.. or anything that can help when i tackle this project..

actually.. can you answer this.. will this work or not..

the only reason i want the switch is for:
on the lowest switch, my lights are aim right up to the trunk of the car ahead.. when i get behind a slow person and he wont move over, instead of highlighting them, i want to switch it to the highest level and blind them until they move..lol...kinda messed up but.. they b pissing me off..

can i adjust it to do that, or is it only a certain point it can go....

thankz..

It wouldnt adjust to blinding unless you had your "normal" setting higher then usual.

I have been looking for the wiring diagram as well, and I haven't found it. You might want to contact wagons_ho! He is working on a harness for the 06 leveling motors, but I know he having touble sourcing one plug, but he may have it now.

He is a busy guy, but surely not the type to steal money.

He is just about your only choice though.

I work. Since January 2nd, I've slept in my own bed at home 4 weeknights and generally Friday or Saturday before being gone again.

I'm looking after a household, the needs of two women, and try to do what I can at home -- so some things get behind. Maybe two weeks later than promised, but not the "months" and "money stealer" that NautyAznoo implies.

If he'd like to do what I do by day, by night and by weekend, I'd gladly give him all of my goodies and let him make a go of it.. This month alone I've travelled to work by Coast Guard Helicopter, military helicopter, civilian helicopter, ferry, hovercraft, coastguard cutter, ski, skidoo, floatplane and snowshoe...... and it's just past halfway.... 18,000 miles of travelling so far..

And Jezzy, I have an 06 switch here for you... still waiting for a plug tho.

And I've had those wiring diagrams for years....Since 05 because the 06 is actually an 05 in Japan..

And still, the 06 switch won't fit in the 04 panel.....

Hey ! Long time no speak, hope you're keeping busy.. HAHA. only kidding.. I know you're a busy one..

I got my 06-07 switch today.. your right, talk about a different switch all together.. And the plug in back is nowhere compatible to any previous years..

I presume you're having a difficult time sourcing the plug in behind the switch then.. I can understand that.. I've been PM'ing all the 06 STI partouts (scrapped cars), and no luck at all.

I may just wire it directly to the back of the switch.. find some small enough crimped terminals and hopefully it'll stay put.. I'll see what I can find (I'm in aerospace, always interesting parts around!)

thanks, keep me updated.

So, a little update. I've opened the 06-07 switch, and used a dremel to trim some of it, and I soldered the 5 wires directly to the 5 pins within the switch (easy to do, took me 10minutes). I'm using 18 guage wire.

I've studied all the wiring diagrams, and I'm getting ready to install all this tonight. Keep you updated with pics soon!

I did that months ago for my prototype that works, but it wasn't up to the standards people expected of me.
