Probably just a coincidence, but back in November I replaced my gauge cluster with an STi gauge cluster and I noticed a few days later that my cruise control button does not light up anymore.

Is there an LED bulb to change? The cruise control feature works fine.

It doesn't really bother me (that's why it's taken me so long to post a thread about it) but it'd be nice to get it fixed. How would I go about popping off that button to have a look at the internals?

The whole button comes out the front, & is easly accessible by removing the lower trim piece.
2 screws down low, 1 pop-it on the side, & the top are clips that will pop out by pulling.

Wow, there is a whole thread dedicated to changing out the bulb? How often does this happen? And does it happen to the other buttons too (e.g. windshield wiper heater, foglight switch)

I have an '02 & have had to change 1 lamp in my fog switch.

The real magic of this was someone found an inexpensive fix as opposed to going to the dealer & them scratching there heads.

The button lamps are an oddity compared to the cluster & HVAC.

If you can swap out a cluster you can change any of the other lamps when they burn out in 5-10years...

Those instructions do look pretty easy and I'll probably visit Radioshack today to get a pair of those bulbs. The only thing is, I'm not liking the fact that they are shorter than the OEM bulbs and therefore not all of the letters will be as bright. I'm not sure why the OEM bulb isn't available everywhere, perhaps maybe it's a Japanese part?

Another question, are there two bulbs in the CC switch? In the pictures on that thread, it looks like there are two bulb housings. When you turn on CC, is there another light that lights up? It's been so long since I've used CC because I rarely drive on the highway

Just got back from replacing the bulb. It was VERY easy. And because the Radioshack bulb is much shorter, I pulled the bulb out a little bit and double wrapped the wires around the socket. The wires are strong enough to prevent the bulb from dangling or coming loose

Thank you!

both cruise and fog have 2 light bulbs each. one for on/off indicator, and one that comes on with the dash lights for backlighting.

I only saw one bulb in the CC button. The foglamp button has two because when you turn on your foglights, another light appears on the button indicating that they are turned on. The CC button doesn't have this, but it has an indicator on the instrument cluster to let you know that CC is enabled. I don't believe the foglights have another light on the instrument cluster to let you know they are turned on

depends on model/year i guess... my 02 wrx has 2 bulbs in each. there is no cruise indicator on the console.
