this is a txs stage 4 car with vf30 and pinks and all the usuals. Its been running crappy for a while now and i finally got to log it today. this is a 2nd gear pull. boost is tuned down. seems like anything above 12 psi it would knock. any inputs or advice appreciated thanks

Change your spark plugs and make sure the new ones are gapped between 0.026-0.028.

Check for vac leaks and boost leaks. If the car was running fine and now is not it's got nothing to do with the tune, the tune has not changed. It has to be something mechnical causing the issue.

Dirty MAF sensor?
Post MAF, pre turbo leak?
Boost leak?
Bad spark plugs (when was the last time you changed them?)
BOV stuck open? From your log above I would say your BOV is too slow, you let off (tps 0) and it takes a couple of log lines for boost to drop off)

Maybe its one or a combination of what MIck mentioned or that it's finally time to ditch the UTEC :lol:

I think they are worth about 5 dollars now :lol:

His timing under spool IMO is fine.

Their is nothing wrong with the UTEC. As I said I would guess this is a mechnical issue. Do you have any ECU CEL codes? Ie does the CEL stay on or at least stay on for a couple of seconds after starting? If so you have CEL codes which could help identify the source of the issue.

hey mick thanks for the responses. It was tuned by you guys a couple years ago. I'm the asian guy that brought in the white wagon. I remember you didnt like the boost controller it had on it :). That day it made 270 whp on matrix's mustang dyno and the car felt very smooth. you guys did a good job. Anyways, the only cel it have is a p0444 evap purge solenoid circuit open. i didnt think it will affect anything would it? Its just frustrated to not be able to get it to run right again. thanks for the inputs

Thought the timing looked ok :)

P0444 should not effect the UTEC's operation.


When was the last time you changed the spark plugs? Fuel Filter? Check those and the above. My guess is you have a vac/boost leak or something. Check the wiring harness plugs in the engine bay as well, they can have bad connections once in a while. Good luck tracking down the problem

Oh and don't forget to clean the MAF sensor. The MAF volts look ok but it's easy to clean so you may as well cover all bases.

MAP is measured after the throttle body. You could put a block plate in place of the BOV and it wouldn't cause what you're describing.

looks like you got 11 counts of KNOCK at 6000k rpm.
21 degrees timing at 5k is a little too much. i would back it down to about 19

are you using the stage 4 base map that turboxs gives out? try removing 2 degrees across the whole timing map.
