I have a 02 WRX Sedan.

I'm thinking about picking up a set of Advan RCIIs 18x8.5 5-100 +45.

Thinking about running a 225/40/18 tire, but not sure what tire yet. and i know some tires are made differently.

Car WILL be lowered with Tanabe GF210. Drops front 1.3" and rear 1".

Will i rub or need fender rolling? thanks.

Will fit fine. Your tires are the deciding factor here and you are still running a bit on the skinny side. With that offset you would still probably be OK with 235s without a fender roll at all, and with fender rolling 255s would fit fine on those wheels.

Why bother with the wide wheels if you are going to put skinny tires on them?

agreed. i would run at least 245's...
