Yokohama AVS ES 100

I dont know which one to get. Which one is better performance/grip wise, any opinions? These will be used for autocrossing and wet spirited driving. And if someone knows were i can get the ES100's for cheaper than that please let me know, thanks.

I'd choose the Falken 452 over the ES-100 in every category. Cheap too.
Don't know anything about Nitto.

Agree with the 2 above. Those 2 choise are no good. Neo-gens are nice looking, and that's about all they're good for.

Yep. A monster downgrade from your stock setup. I don't even think they will last that much longer than your re-070s.

i bought my sti used.. it had hankook r-s2's on it that were absolutely BEAT when i picked it up in october.. those tires got tossed in favor of some winter rubber (hankook ipike w409's). i was looking at kumho mx's (not available in 235/40/17) the hankook r-s2's ($119 each from discount tire), the falken rt-615's ($136 each and out of stock in ohio from discount tire) or the avs es 100's @ $101 each and in stock @ tirerack... cheapest of the bunch and readily available. made it an easy choice for me. the way i see it ill give these a chance and if i dont like them im not out a ton of money i mean the falkens were nearly 100$ more for 4 tires PLUS add shipping on top of that.. not worth it right now in my opinion.

The EVS-100s and the rs2 and rt615s are in a different class of tire, that's why the price is different. Not sure how the Yok's are on tread life, but the other two you listed would smash them in every performance category.

Thanks everyone. Alot of people seem to be suggesting the 452'a and ive been reading up on them. Ill probably get those. I knew the tread were on the ES100's were crap (280) but i thought the performance would make up for it, guess not. Im also on the look out for a decently priced set of RE070's on here. But probably go with the 452's. Thanks.

235/40 is the wrong size tire for an STi anyway...too short gears to start and short tires = too much shifting

+eleventy! The last thing an 04-06 STi needs is even shorter gearing.
Man, I wish I could swap the 07 gears into mine, but it'd hose me for autox classing :(
