Sacramento Raceway just opened up for the Wednesday night fun drags. Im wondering what I should register for my 1/4 time?
Im new to the drag racing world, and if Im not mistaken, you pay the fee, tell them your time 1/4 mile time, and if you break your time you get DQ'd. Am I right? (Its bracket racing btw)
I have a MY02 WRX wagon with an cat-back exhaust and a MBC that i have turned up 4 clicks above stock boost (+2.5 psi +/-). I plan on running 76 brand 110 octane fuel, and putting some dry-ice on my TMIC for the night.
Elevation at the track is about 500' above sea level, tomorrow should be in the low 70's till about 7pm and then drop to the 60's or high 50's by 9pm.
Any idea on a trap speed and 1/4 mile time?
Thanks

IF its actual bracket racing, you get 3-5 runs BEFORE you actually race. This is known as "dialing in" and allows you to get an accurate time to shoot for.
Yeah, they should give you a few (around here it is 3) trial runs to dial in your time before the racing starts. Base it off of that as to what you should dial in at. Ex. if you run a 13.45, 13.53, 13.48 (at around the same trap speed) then dial in say 13.35. You just race the other person to see who can get closest (without running faster) to there dial in time. If you redlight (take off before the light is green) you lose. If you run faster than what your dial in time is you loose.

Bracket racing sucks. Everytime I enter a bracket race I lose to an automatic Honduh who dials in a time slower than what he actually runs, then at the end of the track when he's beating me, puts the brakes on so he doesn't beat his time.

Yea, unless you know your car EXTRMELY well, you'll always get beat by them damn slow automatics!!
At NED in NH, it's always a cavalier that runs friggin' perfect times at like 17.5's!!!! it's retarded, so that's why I just do 'run only' and screw it..
