Has anyone else with a WRX noticed that the dash lights (gauges and controls) flash when the alarm is set and when it is turned off? I know the outside lights flash and the horn can beep (depending on your selection), but it just seems wrong for the gauge lights to flash as well. Won't this burn out the bulbs real quickly? Is this system just this cheap or was mine installed at the port incorrectly? Car is going to the dealer next week for the deceleration noise fix and I would like them to correct this (if it is a problem)at the same time. Thanks.

It's correct - mine does this also.
Flashing the lights on then off - can lead to less life. (but were talking a period of many years) The smaller bulbs shouldn't have a problem with it. But it's more true for a halogen bulb - such as your headlights, or foglights.

I have the foglight wire mod - and I have to make sure to turn off the fogs, or else the alarm flashes them.
