I returned to Wakeman today to get my 07 STi re-tuned. Last time (http://homepage.mac.com/mitchell.hamm/nasioc/dyno_final.jpg) my only mods were the MadDad TBE and K&N Typhoon. I didn't like the Typhoon (too noisy) so removed it (stock airbox and filter back in) and added a GTSpec II UEL header. Al also put in the new Subaru ROM file with the driveability improvements.

So let me reiterate. The only mods are:

MadDad V2 Whisper TBE (catted)
GTSpec II UEL header (ceramic coated)

Max torque was 317 ft-lbs (+43 from last time!!!!!!!) and 272 HP (+8 from last time.) Needless to say I am very happy with the car now. The acceleration is intoxicating. Al said the injectors are done so I will need to put a fuel pump in if I want to pick up any headroom there.

I also met SloRice (Tim) and his buddy Eric. David Buschur is great to talk to and is a down to earth guy. He showed me the new TMIC; nice!!!

Here's the dyno plot:

That's nice, now take it to the track. I have yet to see a 07 STI run at the track. I want to see how much it improve with the new gears!

It was snowing and 28 degrees today so not much action at the track. :)

Thanks for posting that - I am very proud of the result in the above dyno sheet - as you know I spent significant time on your car last time and this time and I have spent dozens of more hours on our own The Shop 07 STI. The 07 STI Ecu is an amazing unit and th epower potential is insane when you start to figure out how everything works and what it likes.

I am kicking myself in the ass for just buying a 2005 STI - the 2007 STI is such a giant leap forward

What a machine

Thanks for coming back. With that big torque increase it was for sure worth your trip! The car is amazing for the few mods it has!

Interestingly - in both cases we each drive the Subarus daily and the Evos are in the garage

Al - I think you are getting close to having this 07 ECU figured out. You need to talk Jimmy into a trade. Just keep ragging on how ugly the 07 pig nose is in comparison to the classical beauty of your 05. ;)

David - Yes, it was definitely worth the trip. I'll drive it around for a few weeks now to see if I want more or can be happy at this level. I think I know the answer, but my wallet is hoping I like it like this.

Sonic, you know it's addictive:) I really think HP is worse than a crack addiction, both the drug and the woman's;)

Dude, all I have to do is look around your shop to know that you are GONE in terms of HP addiction. Your saving grace is that you make a good living pedaling HP to other addicts. If this was just a hobby your wife would have your head.

If you get a chance check on that time attack poster I mentioned to you. It's on the big wall just to the left of center and low. It's shot from the back of your red car looking down a banked track. Love that shot!
