would there be any benifit from porting the wastegate side of mt Perrin catless downpipe?

ive noticed that the flange hangs over almost 1/4" of the wastegate dump tube.

im just thinking of pretty much porting it to match the ID of the tube itself.

has anyone done this?

While i am sure you could do it and not have a negative effects, (unless a loss of backpressure occured) i dont think it would net anything significant to warrant the time that it would take to do it.

I am not sure tho...
bump for an interesting question.

its a matter of 5 minutes to open up the hole to the same size as the ID of the dump tube.

i just want to know it it would be worth it? or if anyone else has done this?

By itself you probably are not going to notice any difference. I am a fan of porting everything. If it can be smoothed out on my new motor, it is going to be. Not neccesarily opening everything up, but making spent gasses flow smoothly. Were you to have you manifolds/crossover/uppipe/turbo ported you would definitely notice a difference there. But again its not gonna be a huge difference number wise, more response.

port that sucker. flanges that hang over are nasty for flow.

i just ported my perrin dp lastnight, and cut off the little tab that seperates the wg from the turbine, the reason i did this is because my wg isnt flowwing well enough and keeps spooling even after the wg is open, i was hoping to cure the problem. but no luck, by the way i am running a vf34. if anyone has any sugjestions that might help my prob please let me know
