View Full Version : 1st time on dyno
albie1kanobi 03-18-2007, 03:39 PM Car is a 06 STi.
Mods are TBE, Ebay TMIC, removed intake silencer, Gruppe-S Headers and running Cobb AP w/stage 2 OTS map. I was informed after 5500rpm the car is pulling timing so thats why its wavy. So I'm gonna try to do some logging this week.
It's a land & sea dyno.

here's my run at the track minus the headers and TMIC.

stay tune, cause I will re dyno the car once its tune in 3 weeks with the addition of SMC meth kit, Prodrive BCS, and fuel pump from Scott Siegel.
aps2fast4u 03-18-2007, 03:55 PM wow, yea I guess that is pretty wavy!! Get it pro-tuned and I bet you'll get some much better results.
I'm Slow 03-18-2007, 04:34 PM Can't wait to see the #'s after the meth tune. Fun days are coming!

I concur!
mxboy15u 03-18-2007, 08:21 PM Not too many dynomite dyno users on here. How do they read compared to other dynos?
albie1kanobi 03-18-2007, 09:35 PM ^not sure. the only thing i hear is that its a low reading dyno.
silverwrx666 03-18-2007, 10:17 PM I think it reads higher then a dyno dynamics or atleast from what I seen
albie1kanobi 03-19-2007, 02:26 PM ^a WRX wagon 2003 with only an SPT intake dynoed at 147hp/168tq
06BlackSTIwith550WHP 03-19-2007, 04:46 PM HOLY **** they got your air fuel at 10 FLAT!!!that is rediculous, go back and have them bring it up to atleast 11
Auto0utcast 03-19-2007, 05:21 PM yeh i was gunna say the afr looked VERY rich
aps2fast4u 03-19-2007, 06:42 PM Yea, most of the OTS maps run rich to accomodate variations among cars. Also, with that Header on there, that will throw the tune off since the Cobb maps are tuned for the stock exhaust manifold.

whats funny is that i have a wideband and when i go WOT it shows 11-11.2 til redline but the dyno showed otherwise. not sure why that is...

its because they haven't recalibrated their AFR unit yet
the land and sea dynos are great, the simulated road load is awesome and works very well, they do read lower than dynojet and dynapack, they read a bit higher than the dyno dynamics and mustangs (unless calibrated higher)
They need to run a car on the dyno then change the parameters in the calibrate dynomite channels tab and match the voltage settings to the PROPER afr.....
Been there done that....
tell them if they need help to PM me
mxboy15u 03-19-2007, 10:54 PM Why does the dyno have anything to do with A/F ratio? That seems very weird to me, why does it compensate?

The afr units need to be calibrated to work properly
Trust me, i have swapped from their AFR unit to a PLX devices setup that
works much better.
