I dont know whats cooler to watch right now tho, the jets or the lightning, i just saw one bolt across the whole sky
Black-Falcon 03-22-2007, 06:41 PM Well out here in Tempe, the only cool thing to watch/listen to is lightning.
archangelf16 03-22-2007, 08:12 PM There's tons of planes and stuff there. I think we're getting 2 F-22s if it's not there already. Dodge is there too with a bunch of SRT stuff (they brought at least 6 Vipers). They're supposed to be doing a "Viper (Dodge) vs Viper (F-16)" race down the runway a couple times too.
My money is on the car.

Yeah the F-22 is going to be there and I don't know about the car wining it lost all 4 times two years ago to the F-16. :D
racingfish 03-22-2007, 08:24 PM I Thought that the f16 was the fighting falcon
treefrogaz 03-22-2007, 08:28 PM I Thought that the f16 was the fighting falcon
Yeah it is but the Pilots like to call it the Viper
shemoves 03-22-2007, 08:49 PM Hey tree, see any F22s yet?
wrx2k4 03-22-2007, 08:52 PM yeah I will be around I live on base! lol
archangelf16 03-23-2007, 02:24 AM I Thought that the f16 was the fighting falcon
Technically yes, but nobody in the AF calls it that, and you'll never hear it come out of a pilot's mouth.
treefrogaz 03-23-2007, 02:51 AM Technically yes, but nobody in the AF calls it that, and you'll never hear it come out of a pilot's mouth.
I have heard pilot call them vipers before the pilot that was flying my jet the other day called it a viper.
im helping out TA/crash recovery right now(no more working food booth), and there are tons of planes/helichopters out there. saw the thundebirds practice, but it was all the same boring 5 stunts
the f-22's were late because of the weather, but i left at 6pm. the boss said they should be here tonight. but there puttin velvet rope around it so you wont be able to get touchy close to it
cv-22 is there. that thing looked funky.
i got to help wing walk -_- the c-5 and got a short tour of the plane inside and out. that was pretty kool :)
helped recover an ass load of planes so i guess volunteering isnt all that bad except i lost my weekend :/ o well, ill see yall there
Keyser 03-24-2007, 01:07 AM I have heard pilot call them vipers before the pilot that was flying my jet the other day called it a viper.
Yup, their not too keen on calling it Falcon. I work for Lockheed Martin, contracting for the TRS NTC-L Simulator and Instructor Pilots, SNEADS, Program Officers ("Mullet" and "Razor") all call the 16 "Viper".
archangelf16 03-24-2007, 01:22 AM Just to clarify, pilots all call it the Viper. You'll never hear them call it the "Fighting Falcon."
Oh, and I stood inbetween the runways on the finish line for the Viper vs Viper race today :D First race was in Mil power against one of the new 600 hp 08 ones. Too close to call from the finish line. Second race was an 05 full prepped race car against an afterburner takeoff. Wasn't even close. AB thrust is pretty intense.
damn i wanted to see that race too. my friends were kicked off of echo just before that race started too. Did you see the huge ass line of like 60 vipers rolling around too?? a little to much IMHO
treefrogaz 03-24-2007, 10:53 AM I was out there tonight watching the viper do hot pass down the runway today that was cool wish i could have taken my car out there to do some. :D
air show was boring!!
the only kool part was the f-22's came in this morning and i got to help out. I got a video of the first f-22 taxiing at luke!!! and a couple pictures. the piolts gave a couple of us a tour of the jet and we all bs'ed inside the rope while everyone was taking pictures outside lol.
i also had to brake ride the 56 OG jet and everyone i guess though it was a performance or somthing because everyone was waving and whistling and shouting. but it was leaking lots o fuel so we had to move it. funny crap. like thousands n thousands of people saw me brake ride while towing it.
other than that eh.. i got some pics if anyone wants to see them. i got them all on my phone and there kinda crappy, but there before anyone even got there so theres no people around in the pics :)
racingfish 03-25-2007, 11:52 AM ohh kinda like the a10 warthog with the names... i remember pilots nick name for that was the low flying slow flying metal magnet.
STi_Guy04 03-25-2007, 09:46 PM I wana Ride in one of those Vipers, Lmao Hook it up tree!!! oh and hook my car up to :p
I`ll give you a call tomorrow man, so we can figure some stuff out...
archangelf16 03-26-2007, 01:16 AM got to ride in one of the new 08 vipers last night on the runway. pretty quick. Too bad the guy spun the wheels so much at the start. We only got to 150 mph with that.
treefrogaz 03-26-2007, 03:59 AM i want to get my car out there on that runway :D
intercoolerontop 03-26-2007, 04:11 AM haha do it
treefrogaz 03-26-2007, 05:22 AM I'm going right now :D
