Morning everyone,

I am having a hell of a time getting my new Perrin in-tube MAF intercooler pipe working with my configuration. When the MAF was in the intake tract the car ran flawlessly. Now that the MAF is in-tube the car just studders and dies. I am trying to calibrate the MAF but I am getting no results. Any help would be VERY VERY appreciated.

Here are things that changed when this problem occurred
-MAF in-IC tube
-Tial BOV
- T-Clamps (definetly not a problem but was a change)

Thanks

Which side of the MAF sensor is the Tial BOV? As I remember it the Tial BOV is open at idle so it will have to be before the MAF sensor.

Don't mind me, just a newbie here asking questions... If the BOV is after the MAF, there is unmetered air getting into the engine which is making it run too lean?

The Tial is on is about 8inches away from the TB so its post MAF. I don't think the Tial is open during idle but I will have to check around on the site. Anyone else have info on this?

for reference reasons my setup is similar to this:

You will be able to see if it is open at idle just by looking at it. The plunger is visible through the holes in the side of the Tial BOV. Even just a little open will cause issues. Have someone rev the engine a little as you look, you will be able to see if the plunger is going up and down.

I'd like to know as well since this sti we have is running the same way. fooled with the latency and fuel parameter and it STILL stalls at each stoplight but runs like a beast on the road.

that tial will probably be closed unless you have the -9psi spring or lighter.

Did you have a bigMAF before switching? If so, that's probably your problem because the piping in your picture is not the perrin blowthur pipe.

Check out this picture and you'll notice that they put in a 3 inch section:

In either case, it's not a plug and play switch. It will require you to monitor your fuel trims and tweak with your injector and latency settings. Even then, it may not work.

My tial is closed at idle. 11psi spring in it.

I don't know if this will help, but i hope it does. Thats kinda how i had my setup before. I moved the BOV to the other side of the MAF and the cars behavior changed. It now idles better once warmed up and i don't run rich in-between shifts. Oh and it doesn't backfire when shifting also.
