Ford is preparing a small run of V-8 powered 1932 ‘flathead’ Deuces as part of the model’s 75th anniversary celebration, with production earmarked to begin next month.
Buyers can choose from a range of eight-cylinder Ford powerplants, but each leather-trimmed example will consist of a steel body mounted on a period-correct box frame.
Just 100 of these collector classics will be minted by Steve Saleen’s staff in Troy, Michigan, with the first one already accounted for at February’s Barrett-Jackson extravaganza (where it sold for a princely $330,000). The remaining Deuces will be sold through handpicked Ford dealers at around $165,000 a pop, though ten cars with Edsel Ford II’s signature will carry a $25k premium (which will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
