I am planning on doing this mod fairly soon as well. When I do order them, I will get the set that Larry Ganz sells. They use the stock belts and come in different colors.

In case you didn't know, Larry's got some of the best customer service around. I ordered my Ganzflow from him and would not hesitate to do business again.

The website is: http://www.imprezars.com/

Hey fatcat turbo, I believe it is only one single pulley. not sure which one though. Larry Ganz sells the 3 pulley set for $250. the only other place i know of that has them is www.subysports.com

they're worth the money in my opinion.

hope this helps;)

The three pulley set is pretty impressive vs a single underdrive, because 85% of the gains come from weight loss, and the three pulley set loses about 5 lbs off the stock numbers, which is 25% more weigth loss than what an underdrive set gives you. The crank pulley alone is only 1lb 1oz vs 5lb 12oz of the stock crank pulley.

Also, with the lightweight pulley set you can use the stock sized belts, and it comes with two FRESH NEW belts which we don't charge an extra $20 for. In the event of a belt failure, you can buy any over the counter belt for the Subaru and it will fit!

Thanks for the referrals guys!

I have a set of black anodized N1 pulleys for sale. Its the set of three with a stock sized crank pulley. They are brand new, never been installed, and have belts included, but they are not needed as you canuse the stick belts. They are for sale in the classifieds forum.

i have the N1 pulleys from Larry and they are so sweet. the time between when i apply throttle and the engine revs is less now. matching revs is easier and the car pulls like mother. i couldn't be more happy.

These won't fit MY98, or else I would buy them, how come you are selling them anyways? You sell the car?

I've been thinking about buying the N1's because they use the stock belts. How tough are these to install? I think I've read that at least one of the pulleys is very tough to get removed. Which tools did you guys use and how much time did it take? (or if you got them installed somewhere, how much $?)

Anyone know how to get the N1 pulleys to stop squeaking on cold mornings? Mine just started doing it about a month after they were installed. Do I just need to tighten or losen the belts.

My car sounds cheap-o right now. Must fix soon.

Pulleys are rad by the way! They work just as advertised.

I am getting rid of them because they will not work with my plans. (vague, I know, but untill you have the parts, "plans" are just farts in the wind that pleople like to play hurricane with  )

Monovich-

Did you install teh gates belts or keep the stock ones on? I have read about a couple of people with squeeking problems with the gates belts.

Steal? Bah, what makes you think I'd even want your thread? :p I don't know if anyone will describe their install experiences, but if you get the N1's and want to make a quick post about your install process (and how much better the engine is, of course), I'd appreciate it.

I would give you my install story, but I have a Legacy and I don't want to frusturate you with how incredibly easy it was for me to install compared to you sucka-foo impreza guys. Mu ha haha ha!

Almost makes it worth driving a slower car that doesn't handle as well.

regarding my squeaky belts, I'm going to buy some crisco on the way home from work and rub 'em down. That should fix it.

umm wont crisco make them slip and slide?!?!

monovich

Actually, no. Putting crisco on your belts has been repeatedly proven to cause less friction between the belt and the pulley sidewall. When applied to all three PS, Crank, and Alternator pulleys, you can gain as much as 5 wheel HP.

Using "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!" will give you as much as 6 hp because it remains less viscious at lower temperatures. The only problem is it costs about 60 or 70 cents more than crisco, so I'm not sure if it's worth the money.

BTW, I used the gates belts.
