my car is a '93 impreza L
1. how much wiring will be involved if i get a twin turbo ej20 from a 1996 jdm legacy (bg5?) with an UN-cut harness?
2. it has a 4wd automatic transmission, will it work on my fwd manual?

I think the old adage...if you have to ask it's prob. too hard. Also would need some more info.
what are your wiring diagram skills like? Do you have the down time? If you are gonna do it then you should go AWD manual and get rid of the autotragic that comes with it, easy to find the rear crossmember etc to do it unless you are hell bent on FWD then yes it will bolt up.
IIRC also you can not fit the TT version into a LHD car. I could be wrong but that is what I remember so it would involve converting to a WRX manfiold and single turbo.
more knowledgeable please jump in if I have missed the nail completely!

unless you convert the TT engine to a single turbo, it won't fit in your car. As for how much wiring? As much as any other swap. I don't know why this comes up so often. Almost all swaps take about the same amount of wiring. There's different subtle differences based on JDM vs USDM and OBD-I vs OBD-II but there really aren't any "measureable" differences. The only real advantage of any combination is getting a swap that is of the same generation of the car it is going into. This makes for more similarities in wiring and connectors, but there are still always going to be some differences to address...
as matt said same amout of wireing signifigant more mechanical fabrication than a single turbo
that said i have NEVER seen wiring diagrams for an ej20H
fwd- yes with allot more work and parts ..new rear subframe, new gas tank, new hubs
basically no don't do this

Thanks. I almost bought the motor, but knowing it will take more than a couple weeks to do kicks this idea out the door.
