I think the next meet should be at the Jene dry lake bed!!! We can bring video camras. Maybe some cones!!! That may be more of a summer time thing. I imagine that it'll be pretty cold out there in a month!:p

Yeh was definately a good meet. Need about 10 more cars and we'd be good to go. Hopefully with the flyer gonna be sent out we can get some more people's out and to do things.

So i guess the 2nd sunday each month is it. I wont be making the next meet as ill be fully covered in snow in washington. But oh well its getting a little chilly out to be hanging out outside. We got lucky yesterday as the weather was perfect.

So thanks everyone for coming out and well it wont get worse from here so alot more fun times to come!

Thats all i was thinking.

See Ya

Just for anyone who hasnt been to the lakebed..

I went at least a month ago and everytime i was my car i find dirt coming out of it. To this day i still have dust on things and i totally detailed my car a few times since. So just something to think about.

Anyone have any cones we could set up maybe do like a rally-x?

Oh shoot wont be here for the jan meeting anyway.:mad:

Hmm... As soon as I fix the scratches on my front bumper or get a body kit I think my car is going to stay away from offroading. :D

The dirt *IS* a P I T A to get out of a car. :mad:

Yeh its almost not worth it.

I mean its so fun and worth it but damn the dirt is so soft and so fine it gets everywhere. I pull up my rear seat and there was a layer of the same dirt dust from the lakebeds there.

How does it get into those kinda places?

The trick is to keep the windows up!!!:D Just joking! Autocross sounds good!

I guess I can do without the dirt...I would not mind keeping my car on the street, at least for a few years, then turn to the dirt.

Just put in a BPM short shifter, wow! Very nice! Short nochy shifts. Is nochy a word? :confused: Anyway, I love it!

An adjustable rear sway is next....I hope.

Yep, the dirt is a bitch to get out.

Bpm is nice eh?

Just ordered a kartboy and bushings for $117 shipped.
Also ordered a shift knob from a group buy for 61 shipped.

I'm in business now. Shifting will be sweet.

Rear sway is next then wheels and good tires!

I love my Kartboy shifter and bushings! Big difference!!:D

DubbleURX
12-12-2001, 02:09 PM
The overall height of the shifter itself doesnt go down does it?

How do they actually work i just dont get it? Simple way to explain if not dont worry.

Getting antsy should be here thursday! Oh **** thats tomorrow:D

Will let ya know how it goes.

Hey also did you have and problems with it touching a metal thing in there? I heard some people have to bend this little piece inside to make it not rub?

Danny

The metal was fairly thick, so I just rotated it 180 degrees. It is pretty obvious what you have to do once you can see it. If you have any problems give me a call at 236-5357. It took me about 25 min total.

LVSUBARU

On mine the overall height went down by about an inch. At first I didn't like that, but after I got it in I love it! The shifter is basically just a bent stick of metal that pushes or pulls on the trany linkages. It has a pivot point where it bends. by changing the angle and pivot point you can make it so it requires less movement of the stick to push or pull the linkage. It's alot easier to understand when you have it apart and you're looking at it. While you're doing the install just take a moment and compare the two shifters. It's really pretty simple, just hard to explain with words!:p

How hard was it to get the bushings in under the car? Is it pretty straight forward? So shifter and bushings install what 45 mins to be safe?

Cant wait one more day!

I didn't order the bushing. It feels really ridged and stiff without them. :confused:

I haven't installed the bushings, but it shouldn't be very hard. There is a how-to in the Mods section of this site.

Shifter Bushing Install (http://i-club.com/mods/shifter_bushing_installation.htm)

One thing to remember is to put some Loc-tite on the threads of the nut that holds that linkage together when you install the bushings.

A few people have had the nut come loose after installing the bushings and the linkage fall apart while they were driving.

With the loc-tite is there a preference. Have i heard that there was the blue and the red? Which do i need?

I'm waiting at the door for this mailman:D

I don't know what the difference between them is. I've always used the stuff in the red bottle. That should be fine.

Sweet man!!

Bushings were a total PITA but after much stress and prying they came off and the new ones went in.

Went for the test drive and im not a official kartboy backer!

Love it

Danny

P.s anyone going to the laughlin rally?

Skidd
12-13-2001, 11:23 PM
The different colors of Loctite mean different grades of strength.

Purple = Low Strength
Good for delicate applications

Blue = Removable Grade
Excelent general purpose. Easy to break loose.

Red = Permanent
When you need it to hold, but still want to be able to break it loose with hand tools.

Green = High Strength
hehe. This stuff is almost glue. You'll need an impact wrench or heat to break it loose.

Drifting in the snow on narrow roads was fun today ;)

When I got to the top and parked and got my snowboard gear together, a few people started coming right at me....

....I thought maybe I pissed off some drivers. They were wondering what the heck my car was and why it was so fast going up the hill ;) ;) So we chatted about the impreza for a few minutes before snowboarding today

DubbleURX

I went up there too today.

Took some side roads and such also. But the ride up how twisty and perfect for the nice uphill drifts was so fun. Ill hopefully get some pics developed soon to show.

Snow rules and wow was pretty impressed how the ****ty stock tires held up!!

Well damn good day. Just painting my front emblem red right now!

Need to get go fast parts. any recommendations for what? about 400 bucks?

Danny
