View Full Version : 06 STi Intake Manifold on 02 WRX WRX26 03-27-2007, 05:06 PM Hey does anyone know if an 06 STi intake manifold will bolt up to an 02 WRX?? Jasper 03-27-2007, 07:52 PM no they wont. your throttle body is drive-by-cable 06 STi (or any STi for that matter) is drive by wire. you will need to do some modifications. SIBzzz 04-02-2007, 10:46 AM is there a reall big gain in performance doing this mod, or just doin tgvs is better. SplatZ400 04-02-2007, 11:01 AM there is no difference in intakes except for the crinkle red and the location of the holes for the TB. Homemade WRX 04-02-2007, 02:04 PM no they wont. your throttle body is drive-by-cable 06 STi (or any STi for that matter) is drive by wire. you will need to do some modifications. this is wrong...the manifold will but the throttle body won't...there is no point in doing it other than asthetics. The only difference is the STi has the powder coating. Except the JDM STi's...they are staying true with a throttle cable. :) god910 04-07-2007, 12:08 PM Here's the skinny... the STi DBW T/B doesn't use the air bypass that the cable driven WRX TB does. It WILL bolt up, the TB will bolt onto it, but it won't work, because (as you'll notice if you look) on the WRX intake there is a big hole at the bottom at the base of the TB, the STi one doesn't have that. It's been said that you can dremel out the STi mani for use on the WRX cable driven TB, but I'm not sure if anybody has done it. All this info came from Phil at Element Tuning. wrxfactor 04-08-2007, 05:46 PM this is wrong...the manifold will but the throttle body won't...there is no point in doing it other than asthetics. Correct, there is a technical issue that prevents the swap. If someone really wants the swap they can switch to DBW, for which you'll need the TB, pedal box and assembly, and an ECU that works with DBW. Seems like a big waste for a non-benefit as far as I'm concerned. |
