View Full Version : 2nd Gear Finally Went!!

So I decided to take wagon out to school with me today because of the nice weather, When I come out of school and get on freeway heading home, I downshifted from 3rd to 2nd doing about 35 to 40 mphs and second went Boom!!! No more second gear so now I have a 4 speed WRX. I had 318hp and 308tq on a 18g8cm and it was running like a champ for about 4 months since I tuned it on the dyno but tranny could only take some much of that torque. Hopefully going with 6 speed soon. Just venting some......

i guess it really is allabout the driver...

i had an ewg 18g pumping 347whp 360tq and countless 1.6 60' and 12.5 passes and it held up for a year and now im running a 35R with zero issues... the only thing i had to change after 6mo's was the stock clutch and now i have a street disc and its doin good. obviously with 450whp its only obvious it's gonna go because of the insane torque but its been holding up.

treat her better and she wont screw u over...

^^^It's not just the driver. The author has a 2002 WRX. Not the same as yours.

XS_WRX- sorry if you are a professional driver of some sort but I simple put it in 2nd and got on the gas and when full boost hit, 2nd disappeared. I don't beat on my wagon, I got a 500hp civic for that.
