I already read all the stickys but I still have a few questions. Feel free to drop your oponion.
My transmission just blew up again for the 2nd time in 3 months... I babied the crud out of it and im having no luck with theese dam things. (it sucks because I didnt buy the car to granny shift, as im sure no one else did)
So Im finally considering a jdm tranny.
I would like to keep a 5 speed just for the reasons of cost, im not rich and I have next to no money sitting around.
I have a 2002 wrx, I was wondering what tranny would be the best option. What components would I have to change. IE could I buy a V7 tranny could I just remove my old one and throw it in??? What would I have to change? Would a v5, v6, v7, v8 tranny work better???? Im really not too sure.
How much stronger whould a V7 tranny be, all I would run is my vf39, pink injectors? (on the side note, this is the wrong place to ask this but anyways im looking for a good engine managment for my car running the vf39 and pinks along with a tbe, any suggestions on that would be nice as well.)
Also if someone could tell me where I can go about purchasing one, Ive found a few sites, but they are slim and few.
Someone throw this dog a bone..

jdm 5 speed will be better in that it will be a lower FD ratio .. which stresses the gears less
you will need a matching rear diff to ...

will the jdm 5 speed be able to handle banging gears better, and not break with the minimul power levels im pushing? I would need just the tranny and rear and nothing else? What version tranny??
