I've been keeping up with some of the posts/threads about problems or suspected problems from the use of CAI's of varying brands. I just removed mine (I don't know the brand, couldn't find any markings once removed, only that it has a blue cone style filter). Once I removed it and put the stock air box on with a stock Purolater replacement filter, the check engine light has NOT come back on yet. Hopefully I just didn't curse myself:lol: Anyway I reset the light and have put about 30 or so miles on it and still no cel. Seems like the car doesn't run any better but it surely doesn't run any worse. Just thought I would let everyone know about my personal experience using a CAI. The cel code was p0171-which I believe is a lean condition.

BTW, any suggestions on a k&N element for the stock box? Yes or no???

This guy is joking, if you didn't know. Check out bobistheoilguy.com for some interesting findings on what difference (or lack thereof) there is between air filters.
