Thanks Peaty 03-29-2007, 11:05 PM I use Redline shockproof lightweight in the tranny and Redline 75W-90 in the rear. You will get all sorts of different answers on this question though. I've got some info here: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3091 and http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7326 If you can't see the pics you need to register but it's free. WRX11 03-30-2007, 09:29 AM NS 75w-90 for the tranny and 85w-90 for the read diff is what the manual calls out for. There are also a lot of other preferences. I didn't have good experience with complete Redline lightweight shock proof in the tranny since day 1. I am blending my own in the future. Peaty 03-30-2007, 10:20 AM I've used the shockproof in three of my scoobies with very good luck myself. My service manual says 75W - 90 for both the tranny and rear diff. WRX11 03-30-2007, 12:17 PM I could be confusing the oil faq from service section. But do agree I need heavier oil or synchro friendlier oil. Peaty, I am guessing our different mileage cars and wear have something to do with it. I've also heard from locals that RL SP worked wonders for them. It's hard to find a store that carries 85W90 gear oil around here. Plenty of 75W90s and 75W140s. |
