I wsa at autozone getting some stuff, and I pulled up next to a riced out Accord V6. It had decals, massive dual exhause, big front lip, big wing, 3 sets of fog lights. When I was checking out, the guy was looking out the window, he said "that yours?" and I said it was. He was giving it props left and right, saying how he wanted to trade in his Accord for a WRX. It was a show car, and he had just come back from a show in NY. I told him it wasn't a WRX, but he was still impressed. he admired my engine for a while, and mentioned about them bringing over the EVO, so I knew he wasn't a layperson either. It felt cool to have honda boy giving me props all over. I did the same in return. His car did look pretty sweet. It wasn't all bling. I left feeling all cool about my poverty-spec TS. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Well, maybe he is a lay-person. If he really knew what a WRX is, he would know that you're ride is a TS. No scoop, covered fogs, no spoiler, and that TS badge on the back.
If only Subaru marketed the WRX as only the top-version of the Impreza! Then people would know what the hell they are talking about!

let the boy bask in his glory...i always get the is that a WRX question now...kinda getting old, it's cool when it comes from older people cause they'll hold a discussion but the kids just want to hear a turbo...well i will give them what they want shortly ;)

If i had a TS that's be the biggest sleeper out there....put RS rear brakes on it combined with and LSD and then a 150 wet kit...ooh baby talk about fun ;).

Well, it is cool that people have positive opinions of youre TS. Besides, if you dont go above 3000 rpm, you are faster than a WRX.

Thanks 555. I appreciate the props. I do feel a little inferior to the REX boys, them being all-kinds-o-badass, and me being only marginally badass. I know the EJ25 is a monster when turbo'd, and with a little shopping at Cobb, they can get over 200 hp. All that is still a little far off for me. All I have for power mods is my Ramen-spec "Igg Bore" home-brewed intake. Probably I'm only getting an extra 5 hp out of it, but it sounds nice. 170 hp ain't half bad. Still, until I get street cams, NOS, stage 1 heads, or a turbo I'm going to feel a little outshined. I like hearing someone telling me my car is cool. Anyone that has ridden in it seems to like it. I esp like getting props from car freaks, ricers especially. They love their cars, and for them to give out compliments to a car, much less a brand, other than theirs means they have to be impressed. I'm very happy with my car, and I'm glad I didn't go down the road of a Focus. that was my first choice before I rode the TS. just not enough $$$ for the WRX.

EDIT: Jeremy, thats another reason why I like it. There are a lot of cars out there the TS can beat. 170 hp IS respectable. The car isn't all that heavy at 3K. I want to keep the stock exhaust as to not attract too much attention. it doesn't steal much if any low end, and doesn't hurt the top end too too much. I want LSDs, and I found a place offering cross-drilled brembo rotors for $80 a piece. JDM I think. I can do a lot with this car. I think if I plan on modding it, its a better platform to start with than the EJ20 in teh WRX. plus, I'll feel that much more accomplished when I'm done. Still, props to the WRX. I love those cars.

Oh man, the TS gets looks all the time. It seems everyone also wants to race. People that don't know what it is always ask. Up here in the hills of Malibu, it comes alive on the canyon roads. Guys SNAP their necks when ya fly around turns.....I could go on but the beauty of AWD lives on.....!

Can't always go by those. I've got fogs and spoiler on mine with Brullen exhaust soon (2x3" tip). Sure, still have 15"s (not forever) and no hood scoop, but depending on the angle even I have a tough time telling WRX/RS/TS/sedan/wagon from a distance, and I know what I'm looking at (as do most of you).

I wish I had a WRX, but for the money the TS is unbeatable.

If the dealer would have had a REX wagon on the lot when I showed up it would have left with me. I drove the sales managers ( 17's all around,upgraded stereo,manual trans ) Was heavenly. Hated the vague sloppy 5 speed shifter. (diddn't have a aftermarket shifter installed) Could SOA have made a shifter that diddn't have the feel of a old VW bug? I think so. I need a wagon for the space. (stuff and kids) so a sedan was not an option. I don't like the roof rack. It will be gone soon. I have a CAI and a Brullen exhaust system on order. I will have 17's, sway bars and DMS coilovers before summer (HELL). I've been trying to get Boston acoustics 6.5s in the front doors for a couple of weeks now. I'm ready to give up and take it to a professional installer. I LOVE MY CAR!!! The devil in my right foot loves my car. People that ride in my car love it (between the screams of course).
Few things I dont like.......... Paint that chips way to easy, No leather seats, no cup holders in the rear seats, rear view mirror should have map lights and be self dimming.

I love my car too. ITs not as fast as a REX, but I can't complain. there's so much good to say about it.
