View Full Version : EVO hits Porta-John at Ripkin Auto-X
Hondo88 03-31-2007, 09:56 PM I was working the course that day. My parents had come out for the first time to watch me race, and were standing in front of the spot-a-pots when a Miata got a little loose. They moved down after that, and moments later the Evo hit the spot-a-pot, sending it, and it's 13 year old contents flying. My dad, a former EMT, was first to help the kid. He was very dazed. Ended up okay after a trip to the hospital to get checked out.
The Evo owner was a douche. More worried about his car; nevermind the fact that he drove to the event (which was cold and icy) from Philly on R-comps. He later boasted on forums about buying another car later that week and how he could afford the car and the medical bills "no problem".
I haven't seen him since.

see, pooping is bad for you
 That's wrong, but yeah that evo owner is a douche, I'd be worried about my ass getting sued by that kid's parent instead of my damn car:furious:
MattNJ2.8 03-31-2007, 10:39 PM Hello and welcome to years ago! CONGRATS! You're the first to post this!
OMGHI2PORTAPOTTY!!

suban 03-31-2007, 10:44 PM ^^13 yr old was in the pooper
Chp_Stix 03-31-2007, 11:06 PM poopy deal for the kid man.... the guy should give the kid the evo... he doesnt deserve it
AndrewSS 03-31-2007, 11:12 PM wow thats horrible....
wvallwheeldrive 03-31-2007, 11:14 PM there should be HP limits that coincide with your age. 16 year olds get 125hp and you get 25 hp a year untill your 25
Impreza01 04-01-2007, 12:08 AM Yeah, I remember seeing this thread and the owner posting on forums.evolutionm.net. If I remember correctly, the story went like this:
The owner didn't mention anything about the 13 year old who was doing his business in the porta-potty until people on that forum were yelling at him. To show his further brilliance, after people started lambasting him for driving on R-comps in snowy weather, he started bragging about how he was an experienced autocrosser who knew what he was doing and he just made a mistake. Someone then rooted his info out and found out he had some experience, but no real mentionable achievements.
EDIT: Here's the thread: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=121557&highlight=porta-potty+autocross Looks like some of the details I had were wrong.
Ralliart4 04-01-2007, 12:16 AM Wow he may need to indeed look at buying another car more to his level like a CIVIC. Evo's drive themselves muchless an MR (what a waste of a brilliant car) and its very hard to f'up because it does all the thinking for you... but hey even azzholes have there days of lemonade in hell.
Why are people so happy to sue people here in america man.. the kid is ok and he did have to sign a waiver of liability to be on the premises. Its just an unfortunate reprocussion from a bad chain of decissions.
I guess i may be too used to the rally world lol.
PS. Spellcheck is off ;)
shadyrex 04-01-2007, 12:57 AM Anybody take a second to ponder the fact that if a port-a-potty is tipped over the contents don't stay nicely in the bottom? Ewwwww, poor kid.
wrxzboost 04-01-2007, 01:16 AM i would have stuck my hand in the ****ter and threw a nice chunk of corn at the evo driver...but that's me!

Do you have any idea how old those photos are?

Did you happen to look at the date? This is going on what, two years old at this point? I'm not even sure if this is the 10th thread on the subject.
Double fail
Hondo88 04-01-2007, 10:15 AM Do you have any idea how old those photos are?
Yep, I think you were just out of high school when this happened. :p
speedyHAM 04-01-2007, 02:05 PM PS. Spellcheck is off ;)
Turn it back on.
ButtDyno 04-01-2007, 02:52 PM Again since I am very competitive and does not take no for an answer, I decided to run on my Rs anyway especially when the snow on the course was really starting to melt
Ah. It tweaks me even two years later.
IT Swift 04-01-2007, 03:19 PM the kid is ok and he did have to sign a waiver of liability to be on the premises.
I think I remember reading that he had NOT signed the waiver....
jcroy66 04-01-2007, 03:45 PM No 13-year old kid should ever sign a waiver (at least for SCCA). For minors, the child doesn't sign the waiver, a parent/guardian does.
But seriously, can we please let the whole thing drop?? Mods? What possible good is it to rehash this old news?
slowWS6 04-01-2007, 09:55 PM Everybody remembers the Evo hitting the porta johns but nobody remembers the RWD Camaro finishing with the 3rd-fastest raw time and 3rd fastest PAX time in all that snow/ice/water.
Is there a NASCAR race on now? I hear they crash a lot.
Pat
Homemade WRX 04-02-2007, 12:17 AM I remember when that happened...yeah, the evo owner was a bag of dueche
i_c_the_light 04-02-2007, 03:26 AM Yep, I think you were just out of high school when this happened. :p
Leave me and my birthday ranting alone!
