I know that I screwed up the section right after I punted the cone in the C-Box. WAAAAAAY too far off the cones. I got 7th in pro class this event (out of 10) and was the 2nd fastest street tire car.

Nice video.
I just realized we have similar usernames :P
Looks (and sounds) a lot like mine... Is a lot of fun and dances in slaloms... hates sweepers with a passion.
<---- has a very dark (read: 50 mph) cone mark in the exact spot as thrdeye punted his cone in the vid.

Brake to late in turns, can hear the front tires loose grip and started to push in the video.
90 CS just asked a different forum to critique his run on the same course on a different forum.
And I'll tell you the same thing I said to him...
Can't really tell much from this angle... except this.
The greater the distance away from any 'pivot' cones, the more time you're throwing away. You need to run over the base of pivot cones (and really almost all cones.. but pivots are the most crucial). Hit it with your door, something. Feet away from them (like the 1-2 feet in the video) means you're adding on much more distance. Your tires can only carry a max limit in turns like those. You can be on the cone, or away from the cone, it doesn't matter. The traction available and speed will be maxed no matter how far away you are from the cone. But closer to pivot cones, and you can literally watch a solid 1-2 10ths drop right off.
Slow it down a hair more while not exceeding the grip of the tires, run over the base, and get on it.

^I've seen him run in person, totally good advice. In fact, I think I just learned something.

Me too, good advice about the pivot cones. Since the 1st AutoX of the season in my area doesn't happen till the end of the month I'm going to have to try and hold that thought till then. I also brake too late into the corners and make the front end push. I can't seem to stop myself from doing it. Good footage btw.

Lots of overdriving at the end. Other than that, pretty good.

I believe that I am just fascinated by this car's torque. I like the throttle too much :(

It was a trscca event at the Nashville superspeedway. Their courses are pretty much always good n fast, but they're also almost always very similar to each other.

I know the feeling. I am the same way when I get in a STI when coming from my wrx. Sometimes I just enjoy drifting the course instead. ;)

If you like drifting the STi, take off the swaybars. We tried to set it up stiff enough to run without swaybars, and it was simply driftastic.
