View Full Version : enduratech coilovers
Sinister redlines 04-03-2007, 02:48 AM After subiefest in November, I did some more research on enduratech coilovers. After speaking with Justin Hynes (stand up guy, responded very quickly with all of my questions). I decided to buck up and buy four sets of coilovers (friends EVO, my wifes STi, my STi, and my brothers STi).
Immediately I noticed that the packaging was above what I expected. Each coilover is set into a very clever holder fixture that is very strong and to be honest it would take a really bad hit before the pieces could be damaged. The quality of the units are very appearent that these are meant to be at the top of the list and well worth the cost. (which is still very reasonable).
Installation is very simple, the units come set very close to where they needed to be and makes the adjustment phase a snap. Justin Hynes also is very knowlageable and can furbish a good starting point on settings.
Overall my experiance was very good, customer service, quality of goods, and quick shipping was all well above what I expected.
NV 02 WRX 05-26-2007, 12:27 PM I was just reading an April post from Sinister redlines on the ENDURA TECH coil overs. While everyone was at the Subi meet I was down in Mexico running the Chihuahua Express, which is a 500 mile race on Mexican roads. My WRX ,( which has greater than 240,000 miles now), was driven down to the race 1850 miles, raced 500 miles, and driven home another 1850 miles all on my adjustable ENDURA TECH suspension. The car was filled with 5 spare tires, spare parts, tools, a floor jack, jackstands, and myself until we got to the race. Then car was emptied out, the EDURA TECH struts were adjusted for racing, and off went.
As a non trialer queen, this was one of the greatest experienc's of my life, as I had all ways wanted to drive to the race, race it and return home under my own power.
The Chihuahua Express is set up with a class for late model car's but you must have a roll cage to be in one of the cometitive class's, of course the Express is some what a practice race for the LA CARRERA PAN AMERICANA you really are racing with some of the fastest road race car's Mexico.
I hope more folks explore the Chihuahua Express as a racing venue the class's are very flexable, it is an experiance getting across the border but once in Mexico the Police and Federalis are very helpful, the people are great and the hotel accomidation are wonderful.
sticop 06-16-2007, 08:17 AM are these coilovers stainless?
scooby888 06-16-2007, 06:48 PM Do they have adjustable damping?
supermarkus 06-26-2007, 03:22 PM Unfortunate dearth of info here on these coilovers. Any other reviews?
Endura-Tech 06-27-2007, 02:00 PM Your right, there is not a lot information on the coilovers in this thread. So I will try to shed some light on this subject for you.
The Endura-Tech coilovers are a 10-way adjustable coilover with 7kg front and 5kg rear spring rates (that's 392#/ front and 280#/rear). The height adjustment on them is performed by the lower bracket which is attached to the spindle, therefore no need to adjust the spring seats which are pre-loaded, but could probably use a few extra turns to increase the spring load.
Front and rear pillowball mounts and the front come with adjustable camber plates.
The materials used:
Lower bracket is made from SS400 steel
The upper mount is AL6061 which is an aluminum alloy that has a high resistance to corrosion. The upper mount inner plate is chrome and the camber bolts and mounting bolts are all chrome plated. The pillowball itself is stainless steel.
All spring seats and lock nuts are also AL6061.
The internal valve dampening is performed with a needle valve as compared to a disc valve. The gas shock body itself is of carbon steel.
The concept of the coilovers is for use on a daily driver with the occasional weekend warrior in mind. These coilovers are a great product for the price at your local shop. We have received good reviews in Subiesport and from many other shops that promote our products. Search us out some more. Feel free to contact us at www.endura-tech.com
BMG905 08-15-2007, 11:29 AM Are there any plans to offer a coilover setup for the Legacy GT, non-Spec B? The factory set up is starting to show signs of deterioration after only 25k mileswith the ride becoming harsh over less than perfect pavement, which is plentiful in NJ . I'll be looking to replace the factory gear in the spring of 08. My needs are for a setup that isn't killer stiff and will stand up to daily driver use as well as allow for HPDE.
Thanks for your help.

With time that is a possibility. We are always looking at the consideration of new product applications. We have spoken in the past of the Legacy GT (both Spec B and Non) but have not had many inquiries about it. Your request will be taken into consideration. Thank you for the inquiry. Your welcome to PM us with any specific questions.

Legacy GT coilovers are on the way, will have them at the end of the month or first week of April. For a DD, you won't be disappointed.
Cheers!

'04AspenSTi 09-12-2008, 12:52 PM So I meet Justin at Subie Fest and we started discussing coilovers I explained that I had not found a set of coilovers that I was impressed with. After speaking with Justin I choose to go with the Endura-Tech Coilovers . I pick up the new coilovers on Sunday from Justin ,and installed them Tuesday morning after the installation I went for a spirited drive up Sand Canyon Road and some normal freeway driving on I 14 . As far as the spirited canyon run the Coil Overs responded wonderfully and with the option of buy and changing out spring rates and stay with one company unlike some coil over brands where you might have to buy spring from other company just to get the ride or spring rate that works best with your setup. I personally have never had a better suspension steup on my car or any car I have had . I will be adding more as soon as I trade out the spring rates and do some more damping adjustments and when the car gets to Germany and I get some track time over there I will be sure to post up about my set up and how they responded to the nurbergring :banana:
Thanks a billion Justin

mark729 09-30-2008, 12:32 AM 10F/10R for first 2months. it was little stiff for DD.
So now 8F/8R. much better for DD but I'll adjust them to 6F/6R or 7F/6R later.
7kg front and 5kg are what in lbs?
Endura-Tech 09-30-2008, 11:42 AM 7kg front and 5kg are what in lbs?
For those that want to know the conversion rate for Kg to Lbs.
Take the K and divide it by .01785 and that will give you the pounds that you are looking for.
7 /.01785= 392 lbs.
5/.01785= 280 lbs.
Super_HKS 09-30-2008, 12:58 PM My family friends Jen and bobby run them on their STI forrester. The drop is perfect and they tell me all the time they rock. +1 for enduratech. Enduratech if you wanna sponser me let me know :)

I hope this doesn't call out my age, but did you ever see the movie New Jack City? "The Sh!@ be calling me" in reference to Mookies crack addiction.
Your desire for coilovers keeps calling you. There are a couple of East Coast spots that can get you what you need to ship to you. Look up Synaptic 3 in NH, or even IAG or Andrewtech Automotive in MD. We are working on making new relationships with other EC retailers too.
If you have any questions that I can answer for you, let me know.
