I just installed my amber STRI gauges (boost and water temp). Looks very nice but I have a queston about how the needles move. When they're doing the opening sequence they move nice and smooth/fluid but when they are in reg. operating mode i noticed that my boost gauge's needle moves sorta like a clock, e.g. tick tick tick instead of moving smoothly. Its more noticable when your just idling and the boost gauge is just moving up and down very slightly. Is this normal?

how does the dimming function work on these? is it with the stock stalk when you dim the interior gauge lights? or is it a separate one-time thing that's preset before you install the gauges.

Alan, you're def missing a TINY factory pill solenoid that regulates boost air to the gauge. It looks like a teeeeeeenie tiny dumbbell. It will make your boost gauge run smooooooooooth. The reason it runs smoooth at startup and shutdown is because this has nothing to do with air pressure. Hope this helps.

Alex - the Defi pod only will take a 60mm gauge. Autometer does a 52mm pod though for the center of the dash if you want

lets stick with the defi pod and bump the gauges to 60mm
