I'm looking for a set of enkei 17X7.5 et48, anyone know a dealer that has significantly lower prices than say, tire rack, or rally sport direct which would be a local pickup for me.

I ordered mine from Worldone this week 999 shipped for 17x8.

There are a few other dealers offering them for less per wheel, who charge shipping though, and a couple who also charge $999 shipped but have no stock.

.....I just got a quote recently from DynamicAuto for 17x8's & Falken 451's (235/45/17). With hubcentric rings, tax and mounting/balancing, it came out to $1,460 (picked up). Their prices on the 17x8 wheel alone are $969 + shipping IIRC. .....+ tax if you're in CA.

because I drive a wagon. Unless other wagons can verify that these fit which I doubt, especially at 45 offset.

How about some Work emotions? We can do those at around the same price and they are (in my opinion) a better quality wheel. :)

Aren't the works heavy? The only reason I'm getting rid of my p7's is because they weigh around 21 or 22 lbs, If I'm going lighter, I want to go super light, but I don't have the $$ for a true forged wheel.

If you're looking for light the Weds TC105N (14.7lbs), or the 17x7.5 SSR Type CRS (14.8lbs). I think if you're looking for a good weight / strength it might be worth it to pay a bit more for the wheels. These wheels are about $500 more. Our Enkei RPF1 price is $40 less than as mentioned above. :)

The TC105N's are special order from Japan, and that does take about 8-12 weeks for them. They are worth the extra wait / cost due to the weight savings, although the Enkei RPF1's are definitely a great deal. :)

your back wheel doesn't look bad, but the front one extends out past the fender, Although My car isn't slammed, I'd rather have the wheels tucked into the fenders. I'm sure with extreme negative this wouldn't be a problem but this is on a daily driver for me.

Car looks good though, I'm glad you posted this because I'm trying to figure out if I want gold or silver on my white 05 wagon.

weird. It worked this morning when I posted that. If the page still shows a phone number, maybe a call to them can establish if they're still up and running?

I just posted it b/c I had a great experience, they shipped the wheels to me super-quick and the price was very cheap. Then again, maybe that's why the price is still showing so low?... stale page for 2+ years? doh! I'd hate to believe someone would pay to host a site that's inactive for that long though.

The front camber wasn't set when I took the picture (it was actually positive). The front now is tucked inside just a little bit (stock STI alignment settings), and the back doesn't have as much negative camber.

Yea, I know that it's a bit on the understeer side of things, I really want to see around -2 up front. This is the max neg camber I could get out of stock bolts, and no plates.....and no, I didn't try your "loosen all the lower control arm bolts and shift that out method",.....yet.

Def go with AutoRnD......I bought a set of enkei wheels from them, but they weren't going to make it to me in time for an autox event, so the owner drove 4 hours total just to go pick them up and deliver them to me. If that's not customer service I don't know what is......the prices on the enkei wheels are the best i've seen anywhere as well!!

inner diameter is 56.1. outer depends on the wheel. they should be able to measure.

Anyone running a 18" on a 05+ STi? The only offset for the 18x8 is 35 which I think would be to low. The 8.5 is 30et. The 7.5 is 48 but I was hoping for a more aggressive look and wider wheel.

randolph-rs
05-02-2007, 07:15 PM
I believe the wheel bore diameter is 73mm while the hub is 56.1.
So basically you need a set of 73mm X 56.1mm rings.

Gruppe-S
05-02-2007, 07:41 PM
Yes the wheel bore diameter is 73mm. The rings that randolph-rs is recommending will fit for your vehicle application.

Im consisdering a set of the RPF-1 17x8 although they have a +35 offset. Most people go with a +45. I have a 03 WRX sedan, should I stay away from the +35's or will it be ok? Im riding on Eibach springs and dont want any problems. Any thoughts from you guys?

Thanks

kennyvb

not +35, go with +45 offset.

DanBelford
05-02-2007, 09:43 PM
You say go with the +45 eh. Im loking at a ste of used rims, should I pass the rims up or can I make them work with spacers? Will I have rubbing issues? Maybe I should just pass the rims up and move onto something else?

ButtDyno
05-02-2007, 09:45 PM
What springs / ride height / alignment are you using?

I would think spacers would just make any fender-lip-rubbing worse.

kennyvb
05-02-2007, 09:59 PM
you should pass. spacers will actually make it harder to "work" (a 10mm spacer using a +35 offset wheel results in an effective +25 offset NOT +45). you might get them to fit without rubbing (ie. more negative camber, smaller tires, rolling fenders), but you'll be adding extra stress to and prematurely wearing the wheel bearings and not to mention skewing the steering geometry.

Im on Koni inserts and Eibach springs, nothing to aggresive. However I dont want to roll my fenders at all. So spacers wont help me make the rims fit? Thanks for the input, I would like to take advantage of getting a good set of used rims like I did before but I dont want to buy someones problem.

On another not, I would like to find a rim to complete my set which had a little mishap into a curb. The rim is dicontinued though. Do you guys have any idea where I could find a new/used rim? Im looking for a:

Gram Light 57S 17x8.5 +50 any colour........

A +35 offset on a Suby GD chassis will be pretty hard on the wheel bearings. You probably want to avoid doing that. What you can do is take it to a machine shop and machine ~5-7mm off the wheel making it a 40-42mm. Not optimal but it can work depending on the wheel and how recessed the lug holes are.

Cheers,

Gary
