I need some advice.

I noticed this evening that the driver's door window is loose. I really try not to close the door by pushing on the glass, but I end up doing so half the time.

It's loose at the end next to the B-pillar, window up, along the top edge of the door panel.

Is this something that I can remedy by removing the door panel and tightening something up?

Thanks much.

Does your car being an 06' still under warrenty or are you over it on miles? Knowing SOA, if you put upgraded front speakers in they will say screw you.

my window on my STi will roll down and about less than half way down it will drop like 3 inches then go down the rest of the way.. When it comes back up it will go up but it wont align right.

I took off the door panel and noticed that a bolt in the track came out which was causing the drop.

Take it to the dealership.. I would be suprised if they dont cover it.. Then again if you do have aftermarket speakers.. no way.

Let's see. No speaker upgrades. Had windows tinted.

I think after tax season I'll take a look at it first.

Car has only 5,900 miles on it since I purchased it in August 2006.

Thanks for the feedback.

I didn't think it was still common on the newer cars but I guess it is...

The problem is they don't use loctite on the bolts that hold the frame rail, it'll vibrate loose and most of the time as it vibrates it deforms the metals around it.

I would take the car to the dealership and have them retighten the bolt with loctite. After that I would examine the metal by removing the door panel to see if any real damage occurred...

I bought my car and the owner had all the service documents one showed the window bolt problem was replaced 20k miles before I ran into the problem. The dealership never used loctite and it backed out again. It really is a pain if they don't use loctite

It could posssibly be that one of the guide brackets backed off. Check along the top of the door around the rubber seal. There are 3 or 4 of them for each (front) door.
