Is the Deadbolt TD04 legal for STX class in the SCCA? I know full Exhaust and Struts, Sways, and tune is legal. Wanted to know if Port and Polished or rebuilt Td04's were legal.

Wanted to know if Port and Polished or rebuilt Td04's were legal. WRXedUSA 04-07-2007, 12:46 AM People here have run them in STX with a Cobb 1 map, then again, I don't think they are legal. adhowe70 04-07-2007, 01:56 AM In my opinion, no. There is no allowance to alter the OE part. tuskenraider 04-07-2007, 01:57 AM Not legal. You can't modify the turbo in any way in STX, just the intake up to the turbo. ButtDyno 04-07-2007, 09:36 AM Only if you're running against Greg Olsen. But he's in ESP this year. The Deadbolt Monster TD04 would put you in SM. I guess the rebuilt one would be legal? http://www.boostplanet.com/product1.htm People here have run them in STX with a Cobb 1 map, then again, I don't think they are legal.Just the Cobb 1 map would put you in ESP... john jaxscuby 04-07-2007, 10:01 AM rebuild are legal, but no modifications. KC 04-07-2007, 10:17 AM rebuild are legal, but no modifications.Yep... as long as it's all stock components, tolerances, and everything else that is the exact same as a stock one. But why people would pay $350+ for a rebuilt one than $150-$200 for a used low mileage one that is still 100% certain factory is beyond me. Usually, while they're paying that much, they do a few 'upgrades' inside. --kC WRXwagon2b 04-07-2007, 02:33 PM But I can do a get AP tining done and be okay right? ex. Full Exhaust Silicon Intake and Intercooler hoses Cobb AP Tuned Is the above okay? John Im gonna try and make it to at least 3 events later this year. Shane Chiketkd 04-07-2007, 02:44 PM Full Exhaust Silicon Intake and Intercooler hoses Cobb AP Tuned Is the above okay? From my understanding of the rules: 1) Full exhaust is A-OK! 2) Silcon intake hose is A-OK, but silicon intercooler hose is not as it is after the turbo inlet. 3) Cobb AP is fine IF you get an STX legal protune that runs stock boost levels but optimizes power delivery. kC, correct me if I'm wrong on any of the above! tuskenraider 04-07-2007, 03:21 PM Can't do the intercooler hose(aka y-pipe) for the reason stated above. WRXedUSA 04-08-2007, 03:41 AM Just the Cobb 1 map would put you in ESP... john That known, I should have been an ass! teambadrun 04-08-2007, 04:20 AM Definately not legal... Crash477 04-08-2007, 06:59 PM You cannot change boost at all in any ST* class. You can adjust timing however. COBB AP v1.0 has a legal STX map |
