Hi all...

Coming up on 30k and want to change all my fluids (oils) out. I know this isn't really necessary at 30k but the oils are cheap enough and it can't be bad for my vehicle...plus I want to change to synthetics. My vehicle:

2006 Impreza WRX AUTO Sedan Ltd.

What I'm confused about are all the transmission/differential/gear lubricants that I need. I've already decided on switching to amsoil syn. for the automatic transmission oil. What else exactly do I need fluid wise? What I gather from my manual is the following:

Front differential gear oil (amsoil 75W/90?) Is this the same at AT differential gear oil?

Rear differential gear oil (again, amsoil 75W/90?)

Is that all? Any clarification would be much appreciated and thanks in advance...

I could be mistaken but someone might have asked those questions before. If only someone would spend some time writing it all up and 'stick' it permanently somewhere where people could find it!

Most of it, if not all, should be here... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=995498

Thanks Aaron...I looked there but it didn't really help me as my car is an auto and things are a bit different than what's described.

Actually what's really confusing me is the difference between gear oil and lsd differential fluid. For gear oil I plan on using amsoil syn 75w-90. What is this lsd differential fluid? Part # below:

OEM differential REAR: K0305Y0900

Is this something I have and needs to be changed? I don't see anything in the manual but: AT and rear differential gear oil and trans oil. I'm so confused...

Well, you have trans "fluid" or hydraulic fluid, if you will, AND gearbox oil... Your gearbox and rear diff "should" use oil, were the trans will use "fluid"

The difference in LSD(limited slip differential) and normal gear/diff fluid is the "friction modifier" package used in the oil... If you don't have a LSD, don't worry about it.
